Guild Wars 2

In the beta the Heart of Thorns character starts at level 80. After release, at what level does the new Heart of Thorns character start. Do I have to level it to 80 and what is the starting area? Is that the same area for the legacy characters?

I mean with legacy characters my existing characters

HoT is supposed to be gw2 end game contents. You probably need to leveling in up in the core game. Personally I saved enough Tome of knowledge to bring up my new character to level 80 when HoT is available.

It is accessed through the Silverwastes, it takes place after Living Story Chapter 2 and the Personal Story, so it is expected that your characters will be level 80.

But you won’t be able to create characters in the Heart of Thorns, you will be able to create characters in the same game world you always have been able to and travel to the new zones. So all new characters should start at level 1 in the old starter zones.
