Hero Points Guide for HoT
What the! I can’t believe it’s that easy to get to the security console hero point in Verdant Brink! It took me almost an hour experimenting with the updrafts and finally arrived jumping from the highest point of the map via all that gusts and floating debris. Was fun though.
Thanks for the guides, helped me a lot sometimes. Even though I don’t really look at guides unless I’m desperate. <3
Hey everyone, for those who are having trouble find the Hero Points in the new Heart of Thorns maps I have wrote up several guides for them. Right now I have Verdant Brink, Auric Basin, and Tangled Depths finished and hoping to have the final map done sometime tomorrow.
- Verdant Brink: http://dulfy.net/2015/10/25/gw2-verdant-brinks-hero-points-guide/
- Auric Basin: http://dulfy.net/2015/10/26/gw2-auric-basin-hero-points-guide/
- Tangled Depths: http://dulfy.net/2015/10/27/gw2-tangled-depths-hero-points-guide/
Enjoy!
Thank you. I’m going to make good use of these. The headache of navigating these maps when you have very little play time is going to be considerably less painful thanks to your guides. Thanks, dulfy!
You’re the best around, dulfy!
Dulfy, you so awesome!

Eve Oren – Revenant
Thank you so much for this Dulfy!
If any Anet devs happen to check this out, I just want to say how ridiculous it is that you gate map completion and hero points behind these Masteries and in the case of Auric Basin, you gate map completion there with a hard meta event. Shame on you. It’s almost like you don’t want people to finish map completion despite folks putting in the time to play them thoroughly.

Saying shame on you because you don’t like something. Shame on you.
YOU have a problem with it. I’m sure some other people do. But you clearly don’t know as much as you think about game design.
It’s an end game map. There are four of them. If everyone could just run through them and get anything, in a week people would be saying they had nothing to do.
Don’t shame the devs because you personally don’t liked something. That’s a borderline personal attack.
If you dont’ like something, say you don’t like it, but this level of hyperbole helps no one.
Every MMO gates stuff, because no MMO can create content faster than content locusts can consume it. If you want map completion play the game. Shame on Anet for making people play the game to get achievements.
Shakes head.
Thank God… Maybe now people can stop moaning for nerfs.
Seriously, you need Nuhoch Proving (rank 5) in order to do the Nuhoch Wallows Hero Point challenge and thus complete the map (Verdant Brink)?!
Wow …
I mean, I get it why they would resort to gating in the case you guys were discussing above, but this is a “starter” HoT map, there’s no reason to lock it down with a rank 5.
Oh well.

It is to get people to go back and finish the map later. It helps keep the population moving between maps instead of just rushing through each map and never coming back.

.
They are not End Game maps, they are levelling maps…
If they were end game maps you would have completed your characters skill tree before entering…
Can you imagine if WoW left its Max level skills as unlocks for clearing the endgame raids?!
If we had our especs before entering maguuma I’d agree they are endgame and I’d not be so frustrated.
Now we need a guide for masteries
The getting of hero points looks so easy on your vids. For a part time player it is dauntless. I do not come across terms that sometimes are used like mini map tier. Have not a clue.
