Guild Wars 2

So Heart of Thorns brought me back to GW2 and I love some of the changes I am seeing in general.

My favorate weapon in the game so far is Hammer (followed closely by Rifle) for the available skins/legendaries (yes, I am more about looks and will play a weapon set because of how it looks lol).

With that said, I notice HoT adds a few more Classes to the mix that can wield my favorite weapon. So between the original Warrior and Guardian and the new Scrapper and Revenant (ranged hammer!), which class do you think is more well suited to build around that specific weapon?

Guard for me still, that golf swing….

Engi was ok but I didn’t like the lack of any sort of knockback or knockdown
And range hammer… it’s ok, but I don’t pick up a hammer so I can stand in back.

I’d have to say that used properly (#2 can double or even triple hit) Revenant hammer is probably the most powerful ranged weapon ingame right now.

Scrapper hammer is… fun, but my engi is not built for power and it doesn’t really work as a condition weapon so i haven’t been able to very practically kitten it.

War and guard hammer has always felt unutterably bland to me, though…

Guard hammer is a lot of fun. I’ve started using it with my DH and I am really enjoying it. The only issue is that it desperately needs to be updated. Skills need to be re-worked (they need more functionality beyond “this one CCs and does a little damage, and so does this one and this one”), and DPS needs to probably be buffed a little (increasing attack speed some would help tremendously). You will probably feel like you are gimping your effectiveness if you choose hammer on guard over GS.
