I’ve pre-purchased HoT on the 21st as some of my friends did, yet they received the character slots and I didn’t.
My account is 3 years old and I’ve registered the key on the 21st of October.
So in the past week I’ve been contacting Customer Support regarding this issue and receiving answers from, either a person living on Mars or some distant planet with a different calendar or a chronomancer too confused from the speeding and slowing of time. Why you wonder… I’ll show you.
First answer from CS was to ask me when I had purchased HoT, after my answer I got this:
If you purchase a code after June 16th, you are no longer eligible for a new character slot. Sorry for the inconvenience.
So I sent a marketing image that a friend of mine had received in his email stating: Buy GW2 HoT before 00:00 of the 23rd of October and win a free character slot.
Or something similar, the image has now been replaced by the new buy the expansion.
I’ve also sent what was on the wiki:
All accounts that become eligible by July 9 will have their free character slot applied by July 10. Eligible accounts that are upgraded with a pre-purchase serial code after July 10 will receive their slots on a weekly basis after that
And I received this reply:
I am sorry to hear the issue you’ve had with your character slot – but never fear! The quaggans are actually STILL sending out character slots -so if you are eligible to receive one, and have not yet, I would simply ask you be patient Sometimes it can take a while for the quaggans to get everyone their character slots, but if you were eligible to receive one, then it should be coming.
We slowly push out character slots in waves, so again, it may be a matter of simply waiting to get yours
So I though, Hurray, Revenant here I come!
Two days later I contacted CS again, wondering why is this tanking so long, can I have an idea of how long am I going to wait? From today till the 30th of October was the response. So on the 30th I contacted them again wondering why are the forums silent on this issue and why am I the only with this problem?

For all players who registered the core Guild Wars 2® game prior to January 23, 2015 and who upgrade their account by prepurchasing and registering any Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns edition before Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns‘ launch, we will add one additional character slot to your Guild Wars 2 account.
Sooo is this the work of the Mad King minions? Mordremoth working afraid that I master a Revenant? Arenanet new characters birth control policy? Is the guy sending the weird dates the same guy that is supposed to make bank slots for new materials?
I’m confused, sad and furious, this is no way to treat anyone that buys a product from you. I’m also sad, I’ve only had one prior interaction with CS and they were super! I sadly can’t say that anymore

update – Received the character slot last night, hopefully the people that are having the same issue have received theirs aswell.
