HoT meta events/champs need to be scaled for non US timezone players. At the moment we are often unable to complete these events.

Verdant Brink would be difficult to scale simply because of the amount of objectives that need to be covered, especially during the Night.

I find the Octovine scales quite well. I’ve seen 5 players take West down to 5%. A little better execution and it would have been completed.

Not sure if the scaling would matter for Tangled Depths since it fails the vast vast majority of the time regardless of population.

I haven’t done Dragon’s Stand on a low pop map but even at off hours I always find a full map ready to do that one. I hear it does scale down though.

Hearing what you’re saying Boysenberry though I’m afraid it perhaps shows an huge oversight in Anet’s planning of new areas by not taking time zones into account. This means that the whole system of rewards are only geared towards US time zones that have the sufficient numbers to complete most HP’s and meta events.

The past several days every time I login to Dragon Stand it’s empty on AEST time zone. By empty, today there were 5 people total spread amongst the starting areas.
Guildies have said l must be on the wrong map instance though how can l get to another? Our guild is wvw based not pve.

Ok here we go again. The game does have an LFG tool, and usually when people are doing DS, VB T4, or Tarir meta they will put up taxis to get people in the same map instance instead of scattered around 5-6 different ones in quieter hours.

A lot of the events do scale. In VB for example, I’ve solo’d the updraft wyvern, 3-manned the other wyvern and have done the 2 frogs with 3-4 people. Some events however don’t scale at all, such as the collection events. The one to collect parts to bomb the tree for example seems to assume 10+ people and the Faren one simply wants 50, which takes seconds for a zerg and like 10 minutes to solo.

The problem I see a lot is people simply not believing it’s possible. They’ve done it with a zerg so they think a zerg is required. Additionally, the less people you bring, the more effort is required. People assume it’ll fail so they don’t even try, when really, if everyone participated, it might succeed. I’ve basically solo’d each chain in VB for example, so T4 should be easy. I can solo most camps at night, so holding them should be easy. With 15-30 players, T4 day/night should be a success. The problem is people need to be able to hold their own and not zerg. The other problem of course is that the risk vs reward is completely backwards compared to simply zerging.

Good for you, however this thread wasn’t created for your kitten, we’re talking about the general Gw players here.

Outside prime time, HoT metas are pretty hard/impossible.
