It all sounds pretty nice on paper, and it sounds very polished when its coming out from Colins mouth. But how did you guys experience the HoT?

I personally loved it; massive maps with so much content in them (gorgeous too, Auric Basin is beautiful), Chronomancer is a joy to play, some very funny bits in the story, the mob design is the best they’ve done (you need to play differently against certain varieties and meta events in Dragon’s Stand will throw combinations at you that are challenging), the Masteries are great (Gliding is amazing – I have died a few times coming back to Core Tyria and jumping off high places – and the mushrooms too). Haven’t looked at the Borderlands yet and I know Chrono is a beast in PvP already from playing in the beta weekends. Oh and guild halls let you decorate if you’re into that (I’ve never understood player housing desires but some people do love that sort of thing).

Big thumbs up for most of it. It was a little lacking in new skins though (a small thing really).

I paid $50 for something that will entertain me for months to come. No complaints here.

So far I couldn’t even spend more than 1 hour without falling asleep. It was so bad, I kept falling off the cliff in the new areas every 5 seconds. Went to sleep early since GW2 failed to live up to the hype. WvW with the exception of Eternal Battlegrounds, the other maps are just horrible reincarnation of silverWASTE and drytop. The best part of GW2 is the mad king events… That didn’t require me to waste money on these new contents that feels more like heavy grind. Smart way to make the game long… Limited contents, but forced grindfest to unlock everything… The free living stories was more fun. No offense to the developers. I know they tried, but can’t please everyone. I’m now waiting for the next sale for Diablo 3 and try that out for a bit. Probably take a break until these excessive grinds gets fixed. Mastery and elite specialization is more grind than anyone can imagine… I’m glad I only bought 2 copies. Don’t need to get the other copies for other family members , at least not yet.

Just incredible, tried for an hour and thought he was grinding then goes to buy Diablo3. Speechless.

I have all masteries necessary to get through all the maps comfortably and my Elite Spec fully unlocked (its day2) – you don’t need to grind and you cannot grind for the Elite Spec because you only achieve it with Hero Challenges which are unique, in different areas and are not repeatable (literally impossible to grind them – though some people think it is grinding so they must be using some new definition I don’t know).

I’m most of the way through my revs elite spec, and have 14 mastery points sunk so far. I’m just… loving it. I recently helped a friend with the hero challenges in verdant brink, and flying around the upper map is something i could do for hours just for its own sake.

I have to admit, after the beta w/es i was skeptical, but so far this has lived up to my hopes almost perfectly.

Much kudos to the whole ArenaNet Team. If I had to lament something, it is that there is sooo much to do, I don’t know where to start. Lol.

Fantastic maps, dozens of Achievements and Collections, Masteries….it’s all so much fun. And Halloween to boot!

Great job. Thank you so much. Two thumbs up!
