Will there be map completion?

If so, will it be separate, or put a dent in my current 100%, and say,

“Nope, you’re not done.”

If there is Map Completion, I’d wager it will be like Dry Top/Silverwastes/Southsun. There may, or may not, be some reward for completion of all of the maps in Heart of Maguuma. It definitely won’t impact Pact Tyria Map Completion.

Good luck.

HA! ANet won’t even give us a straight answer regarding how many PVE maps we’re getting/names; I doubt map completion is high up on their agenda when they’re actually producing this expansion. If they had a complete working Alpha version of HoT we would know what the Jungle Region looks like, what the zones are, but I believe the only PVE content they have finished is that first PVE map they beta’d, and the 2 Guild Hall maps; the rest are being produced using the kick starter money you guys gave them through the preorder I bet.

What do announcing details have to do with having a working alpha?

My understanding is that the two are almost completely separate processes. They may occasionally put off announcing things (like the details of specialisations) until they’ve been tested and they’re reasonably confident they won’t need to make any big changes, but things which are unlikely to change as a result of testing, like the total number of maps, could be announced at any point, even long before they’ve got functional maps for testing.

@Danikat Seeing is believing, unless I know it exists, I have no proof that it does; therefore a pre purchase is a blind investment nothing more, I’m not one of those faith based people, I look for verifiable facts.

I think they said somewhere we’ll be getting some form of completion tracking, whether it’s like the vanilla maps or not. I think completing these maps will count for: map specific rewards, like in the vanilla maps. Also exploring every part (you know when it says (enter name here) discovered) will reward a new explorer achieve – Heart of Maguuma explorer. It can’t be just Maguuma because we already got that. Unless the old one is renamed to what it actually is, the Tarnished Coast.

I doubt map completion will count towards Gifts of Exploration, because not everyone will have the expansion.

The only thing it will likely have an impact on is the collection quests for the new precursors, whenever those get added.

I have verifiable facts. I’m enjoying the game. I’m interested to see where the story goes after this. I can’t play the story without purchasing the game. I also want a guild hall for my guild. Verifiable facts.

If my purchasing the expansion came down to only a question of more zones (and it doesn’t), you’d be right. But there’s a lot more to consider there than just how many zones. The thing I’m looking to most is masteries actually.
