I’m about zerged out from running open world events in HoT. Can we get some mastery/xp levels from something instanced for the HoT maguma masteries? Personal story is good, but that only goes so far. How about some decent universal mastery gain from fractals past level 50…since that is technically HoT content? The new zones are nice and all, but I can only stomach so much open world zerging. On top of that….the maps are starting to get pretty deserted…which I’m assuming means that other players are starting to feel the same way.

maps are not deserted i would say you are either not in the right places or are having terrible luck with the mega servers

I guess its terrible luck with mega servers then, because i’m routinely getting the prompt to switch to more populated maps. I’m accepting the prompts and it helps some. I would still much rather have an opportunity to do something instanced like high level fractals instead though…for HoT maguma masteries…at least something to break the monotony. I’m starting to feel like a hamster running on the treadmill.

Verdant Brink seems lifely – the next maps are usually pretty empty for me. I guess that is because people taxi players to one map and when you do not use that taxi (or when they no longer taxi people in) and you appear in the map you get to a non-taxied map and you’re pretty alone there.

I only ever managed to do Rarir properly when I used a taxi and led one gate assault. Enough people there and the event succeeded. Before my taxi use I have never seen Tarir succeed – never enough players around to man all the gates (and you only need like 20 for Tarir to work).

Only a few achievements that award mastery points require you to team up with people. The few that so only require 4 or 5 people. Go for all of the mastery insights as well as strongboxes. You can then go for the miscellaneous achievements such as Hidden Amphibian which are easy to do.

Try some of the adventures too. You can get bronze, silver and gold rewards once per day. They’re not instanced, but they are solo content.

Misreading. Not talking about mastery points…those are easy. Talking about the mastery bar …which is the replacement for the experience bar.

Daily Adventures are worth a lot of XP, especially the ones that take no effort to get a Gold on.

I end up in deserted maps all the time, specifically because of how megaservers work. We don’t have overflows anymore, we just have mega servers. So when the mega servers fill up they spawn new instances and eventually there is one or more at the end with not enough people in them. That’s the one I end up in often, at least in Auric Basin.

I had to laugh when I read this because we had the very same problem inside our guild hall the other evening. I cannot understand how a guild hall map can bump you out for having 5 players in it.

Then we have 5-10 players in the next map we get bumped into, and still get a map bump.

What on earth is going on with this map bump stuff? Mega servers ??? If they are indeed mega servers, you would have thought there was an ability to logically count the numbers for the maps and pull them together correctly.

Every time our guild gathers for missions in the guild hall it’s a continuous stream of map loads, and then when we use the portal in the guild hall to go to a mission we get spread to the winds again and spend 5-10 minutes taxiing everyone in. They have a lot of work to do on this, and DS is a prime example where a completely new mechanic is needed.
