I don’t understand why it is so hard to stay Verdant Brinks, just too many super difficult events for only a few players, it is just impossible to do any exploration in the map. PLUS, a lot of Waypoints are contested at times, it was very frustrating to play. It supposed to be a relax time after work.

I was wonder how any one else are playing in HoT other than play as a large group ?

I’m a very casual player. So casual that I sometimes don’t play for days.
My best guess is that this depends on how lucky you are to find a good map. I read that they’re trying to do something about that so that not so many copies of Verdant Brink are open at the same time to fix the population problem.
Also, I’d like to say that there are some events you can complete with only 2-3 players, like the escort events in ‘night and the enemy’ as well as conquering the pact rally points. You would still get a high percentage in participation.

A few more waypoints would definitely not hurt anything. I mean, they justified no mounts in this game by saying, “Hey, you don’t need mounts! There are waypoints freaking EVERYWHERE!” And then they stopped adding many waypoints in the new maps, but we still have no mounts.

They need to make up their minds. Either give us mounts or give us a decent number of waypoints, but I just love the whole “no mounts and no waypoints, either, so suck it up.”

The only mobs I take the time to kill are raptors and those shadowstepping 4 legged animal. They both die fast and do lots of damage.

For the most part, it is pretty easy to run away from majority of mobs. Try to get the buttons and hanggliding + updraft as soon as possible. There are mushrooms everywhere that you can use to escape and hangglide off cliffs if you have to.

Please post your build/gear/class. Helpful tips are really class specific. If you can spec chronomesmer I would recommend it.

I haven’t had any trouble running around solo. Is your build terrible or are you playing poorly? Have you considered asking for advice in your class forum instead of blaming the content?

People are just used to it not being even possible to die in PvE.

If Verdant Brink is “hard” … I can’t wait for you to play the other maps.

Verdant Brink is easy !

Verdant Brink is easy !

Only if you have the glider, mushroom bouncing and updraft. Before that it’s very tedious to get around/explore and unfortunately that’s the first impression a new player on the map will get. Might have been better to unlock at least the glider and the mushrooms with the first story parts very early.

I am also a casual player, but I play with my brother and sometimes we have some difficulties but never insuperable.
Advices :
- find a friend to play with. This is a MMO after all, you shouldn’t be able to solo everything.
- look at your class forum to improve your gameplay
- if your are alone and you suddenly cross a group of players, follow them
