HoT on discount sale when?
Maybe by the end of the summer or towards the holidays. Nobody here will really know and it’s not really something they would announce in advance.
Your best bet would be to keep checking official 3rd party sites to see if they have any sales.
I believe the first sale of GW2 for 50% was in April 2014. I could be mistaken though. This was about 1.5 years after release. Since HoT has only been out for about six months, there’s still time if they were planning to do the same. They also are including the expansion for free when you buy the next one so they may not even offer a sale.

Check your online retailers. Over here in the UK the price is already down to 23 UKP at Amazon.
since before release, HoT has never looked to be worth 50 dollars to me, hell, hardly even 40, which is what the GW1 expansions costed (at least where i live).
but it wasn’t long after GW2 hit they started doing 50% off sales for GW2, so i’m wondering when that will happen for HoT. Cause I will pick it up for 25 bucks easily.
It’s been on sale for that low from ANet’s partners, just not AFAIK from ANet directly.

From 3rd parties, you can already find the boxed copy for 50% off. Amazon for example had it for that during Christmas. The digital copy has been at least 20% off since pre-purchasing began. DLGamer.us for example has had it hovering around 20% off for a while.
From ArenaNet however, they might never actually reduce the price. Once season 3 starts for example, they could do another heroic edition re-release and next year when season 3 ends, they could bundle it. If they keep a fixed price, they won’t have to offer refunds with the next expansion like they did with HoT.
Its on discount at Eb games here in Aus, i believe they are having trouble selling them.
