This is disappointing.
Story itself:
Rushed, not deep enough.
We just keep leaving party members on our way, splitting party all the time. No further development of party bounds. Why would Braham bury Eir alone?
Any check-up on our Pale Tree in the meantime? No.
Any great revelations? No. We delivered the egg to the city of Tarir! Yes! Will we get to know what next? No. How was this egg helpful? It wasn’t. Nothing substantial in Rata Novus. Each dragon has a weakness. Well that was expected. What weakness? We don’t get to know, even about Primordus, though it is best described in data. I expected Zojja to be helpful, but no. We don’t get to discover Mordi’s weakness by ourselves but wait until last mission for Traheane to tell us. In fact Zojja seemed to be really confused if not crazy. Hell, we don’t even know if Logan lived or not, he was unconscious, did he make it? Not important apparently.
I was teased that being sylvari I will have to face problems of trust, really, when was that? That first mission when you can show trust to Laranthir? Wow, so complicated. Teaser movies showed more story, with Canach screaming “We are not your enemy” and with Faoline fighting aside Mordrem. When in fact Faoline was just killed and her body used to create something. It wasn’t her choice.
And this way to defeat Mordremoth… What? That was so weird, illogical concept it’s even hard to discuss. Let’s just think we kill elder dragon and boom elder dragon is dead. Why didn’t we just kill Zaithan by sheer will of few people. And it even more ridiculous when NPCs keep saying how Mordi is so much more powerful than Zaithan.
Last mission:
Well that was a nightmare. I wasn’t able to win myself (not balanced for 1 person). Asked a friend for help. Mordremoth looks like a giant toad. Or a potato. What a design… Really… Good old Tequatl looks more like elder dragon. I got killed by Mordremoth and was automatically revived but trapped on some high platform. I just watched my friend fighting the last fight with final boss. I couldn’t do anything. Do I have to explain how awfully anticlimatic that was? But he did it and we got back to Traheane and then after this quite long mission boom I got disconnected.
I’m so not buying any other expansion in pre-purchase.

I think your problem is that it was intended to be played solo. I died during the fight with Eir before I figured out what I was doing and ended up on that platform, where there was a retry mote that let me restart the encounter.

The platform you ended up on was probably the same thing, except, since your friend was still in the battle, you weren’t able to restart it until he dies too. If you were alone, you could have just restarted it.

I’ll try to explain some of these questions you had or things you obviously missed.

1. Braham took his mothers body back to Holbrak (City of the Norn.) to perform a ceremony held by the Norns which is something their people are accustomed to do in such an event.
2. What’s to check up on, she served her purpose in giving us visions of what is to come, and what must be done.
3. Revelations where had, it was disclosed to us through the story how Mordremoth was creating his armies, that the egg was to be used to create an allied Elder Dragon like Glint, That all Sylvari where not sheep, and if they where strong willed and mentally sound they could resist or almost shut out Mordremoth’s orders.
4. In Rata Novus we found out that their was a lot of information, but not much on weaknesses, if they enhanced this part of the story it would of been a bit of a tiresome ordeal.
5. Zojja and Logan both survived, after freeing Zojja (Which was the most damaged from Mordremoth trying to turn her into a puppet, she even was able to have her clones tell us what to do.) Logan was seen standing up and alert being taken away to heal up after what happened to both him and Zojja.
6. During the story missions, Sylvari would become dazed and your party members would see you as a Red name, and you would see them as a Yellow name, You heard voices and the blurry effects would make it very challenging.
7. We didn’t “Think” Mordremoth to death, our minds where sent through a Portal that Trahearne summoned with his last ounce of strength to send us to the Dream and Defeat Mordremoth’s mind, the only tangible or most logical source to attack, seeing as how he literally couldn’t be killed by normal means, those means being what Braham described pre-fight with Mordremoth.
8. Mordremoth did look quiet odd, however that wasn’t his physical self, it was a form of his self that his mind conjured up, a lot of the cinematics and cut scenes showed him underground, deep in the earth, that’s the real him, and he looked great from what was revealed.

I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy it, bugs and problematic glitches where bound to happen soon after launch, no testing is going to 100% safeguard a game from having a few hiccups along the way, I am sure that after they take what bug reports they are getting, that we will see improvements over-time, we will just have to be patient, and not expect perfection.

Good points all odukoro, and might I add if they didn’t give that little piece of information of the dragon’s weakness to Trahearne his reintro back into the story would have fallen flat.
