This is also a concern I had, because when I logged in and there weren’t a lot of people around in the beta, I was getting my butt kicked. It’s not just an issue for the first zerg; it’s also an issue for those of us who play at odd hours when there might not be many other players around. Scaling would be awesome, IMO.

Will play scale? It seems like atm, most situations are group oriented, much like Silver Wastes.

I tend to be a solo player getting together with my guild one day a week. This game has been good at offering casual group options. I am just concerned that too much of the HoT content relies on groups, casual or formal.

I understand this is tricky and a fine line to tread, but there is one thing to making group play accessible, and another to making it mandatory.

I cannot always coordinate with 5 plus folks to run at the time of day, and with the same goals to run an instance when
I am ready to run. You do seem to be addressing it by making “World Boss” situations, but these events seem more complex and I wonder how they will stand the test of time.

The only way I can see you maintaining interest is by continuing the World Boss reward system ( and improving the odds a bit) so that more advanced players have a reason to keep coming back.

Otherwise I see about of month of zerg in the front part of the story-line and then everyone is perfecting gliding and/or working on other mastery.

Just really worried about how much of the new content seems to be group oriented.

I also have this concern. The last couple of times I was in Dry Top, the maps were barely getting to stage 2. I’d guess that the rewards will be what keeps people coming back, but ANet will have to balance the longevity of the content against the ennui caused by too much repetition to reach goals. The best way to combat this, imo, would be to rejuvenate the content with different rewards over time.

Lots of maps were challenging when we first laid eyes on them. Even the Silverwastes, Dryptop and Southsun. As people get used to them, they’re going to get easier. Also, there are protects/buffs you can get from specializations that will make the zone easier. I’ not sure why anyone is having trouble getting stuff on on Dry Top I just jumped in and ended up on a tier 4 server.
