I know there’s been a lot of argument over the bundling of GW2 and HoT, but I was wondering – some people say that it’s only a pre-purchase bonus, but I’m not sure if that’s the case.
The FAQ says:
Q: Do I have to own Guild Wars 2 to play the expansion?
A: Yes, but Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns includes the Guild Wars 2 core game.
note it doesn’t say that this is a pre-purchase bonus. it says HoT includes GW2. if so, the argument that HoT is the new base game gains a bit of weight, and the fact that you can’t buy GW2 itself right now doesn’t help dispel this…
if the core game was a pre-purchase bonus, then it’d makes things better, but if they’re not going to be available separately, if the two are a bundle from now on, then can Anet really argue that it’s a freebie and not a bundle?
