After giving it a lot of thought I have decided that my revenant I make will be working on Halloween mostly, since I’ve never done the sylvari storyline, I was planning on working on that side of things anyway, so a pause for Halloween would be just fine, while my main, a mesmer, will be going to heart of thorns. I’ll probably alternate between them as I get bored with one thing or the other.

What will you do?

Going full Halloween until I get the bat shoulders and all the achievements done. Will also stay in tyria until I unlock precursor crafting so I can see what I need to buy.

Once I finish that up I will start exploring the jungle and working on masteries there. Should have enough Hero Points to unlock all my traits so I won’t need to grind anything there. The skills can wait.

I’ll be in Maguuma farming hero points.

Halloween – Limited Timed Event
Jungle – Will be there for at least 3 years.

For me, I’ll be spending most of my time in Halloween. It sucks that we even had to make this choice honestly, but I’m rolling with it the best I can. ::thumbsup::

Curse myself for not getting a gaming laptop in adition to my desktop when I had the money as I’m with my future wife on the other side of the world :p

Halloween…. full bore. Not even a question really. So many new limited shinies….must have! HoT will be there waiting when Halloween has passed.

For me, the only real question is – do I level the baby rev, or do I use all that yummy Halloween xp to level core masteries? Choices, choices…

Halloween for me. Probably on that Rev since all that glorious xp can be put to use. now I just have to decide if my rev will be a kitty, or a tree…. ugh… so many choices.

Mad King Thorn hands down. I mean yeah Mordy’s all big and bad etc. but Thorn’s been terrorising Tyria regularly for the years. Also Thorn has Steve the Chainsaw Skeleton. Way cooler than Mordy’s angry plant minions that can be crispified by a couple of flame throwers.

Mad King hands down… and here is why.

The man is so kitten insane, he carved out a chunk of the Mist for himself. Something the Dragons, dispute their power, have not been able to do.

But if the mad king fight is once per account per day for the chest & If there’s no lunatic Inquisition to bring this year (please!) then there’s plenty of time to do both.

After all, I would really love to take my Reaper into halloween content, instead of just necromancer.

I think I’ll do more Halloween than HoT, but it will mostly depend on the requirements for the bat shoulders. My guild wants also to claim its Guild Hall on first day so I think I’ll take a lot of time wandering in the hall between two sessions in the maze.
If XP is still activated in the maze then I’ll have to choose between leveling the Rev or the masteries.

I will do HoT for most of the coming week, but Halloween for last couple days of month. Halloween isn’t for another week and a bit so I will have time to get the hang of HoT and still able to spend some time on holiday stuff.

First day – jungle/rev/hero points how can I not?

Second day undecided depends how much fun I have in jungle and what I get done

Third day on probably Halloween until I get bat shoulders

I haven’t decided if my Rev will do Halloween or my main will for it. I’m thinking my Rev because I really like the idea of the bats on him, but if it’s a shoulder item instead of a back item I don’t think I’ll even use it.

Seem, like I’ll be one of the few that will do both because usually I quickly get bored of halloween so I’ll share my time between the halloween and maguma (one hour each per day not more).

I’ll borrow this thread for a second. This is the first time I’m playing GW2 during Halloween, is there something I should absolutely do/see? I don’t want to miss anything important/cool.

Its a game, there is nothing you have to absolutely see. Here is a good suggestion, since we dont know what you like, why not spend 5 minuets doing halloween events to see if you care or not.

I will be spending about 80% of my time farming Halloween to death getting all the yummies but mixing in the HoT story and hunting down enough Hero Points to finish my Tempest.

Sooooo much to do I will have to keep the coffee supplies fully stocked in order to survive! lol

Definitely going to focus on Halloween.

Anet can troll us again like they did the Mordrem Invasion event and put a timer on Halloween events.

Halloween, Hot is forever while Halloween is a temp 2 week event once a year. They got that amazing ascended back piece that you have to work towards, plus all the stuff all the other skins and mini’s you can get. Hot will be on the back burner for the next 2 weeks.

I hadn’t really thought about it, I want to try and unlock my elite asap but I would also like to partake in the Halloween Event.

I’ll probably spend some time in the new areas trying the new elites on a few classes, then do Halloween with the rev to help lvl it up, I could scroll it to 80, but I haven’t actually done much of the lvl up system yet, so I’ll play around with that.

I would like to mention that it an interesting little experiment they are doing, combining a new xpac which people would normally blow through vs a holiday event.
Slowing people down by overloading them with stuff to do all at once. I’m sure it won’t hinder some people if they decide to ignore the event, but could help slow down a large amount of the player base

I’ll probably spend some time on Halloween since I’m going to need money to redo ascended gear. Ugh…

Halloween or go home, that’s what I think. Will be rolling my rev and ToK leveling him. Then I’m going to L2P him in the labyrinth. Fun times for all.

Halloween here. This way I can play descent content while they get their crap together concerning what they want to do with HoT.

So far it looks like Halloween is heavily winning vs. hot lol

Halloween and the Pact Mastery. Because auto loot is truly the “One Ring” of all QoL improvements in game.

This is where most of the game population will be for weeks after launch… In the grind fest. Meanwhile players actually trying to play the game are alone in the jungle and keep getting taken out by empty events. Mega-server won’t help because players will be on the map just not giving a kitten about anything except “where is my next hero challenge”. This is how we’re suppose to play it, I guess…

Likely boost a rev to 80, then L2P it a bit by doing the halloween content. This depends if there are new items from the Halloween event to go for (and I think there is). Here’s hoping Dulfy spends her time with the new Halloween progression first.
