Bets on how far out next beta weekend is?

I’m guessing 2nd weekend of September…

With release in October

((snort)) You know there’s a physical Heart of Thorns box, right? That means informing retailers well before release date when the release date will be.

…And they haven’t yet.

What they have done is backpedal ferociously, promising “This Year”. Drop dead date 18 weeks from now. That’s not language you use when you’re shooting for 6-10 weeks.

My bet remains Black Friday +/- 2 days. That being the absolute latest they can string this out before Heads. Will. Roll.

I wanna guess the next one will be in 2-3 weeks.

But I wish for this coming weekend. :/

They usually give a one week heads up before dropping a BWE on us… so it wont be this weekend for sure. it will likely be in 2-3 weeks depending on how they sort out the bugs brought up in this last event.

If I can play druid and forge I’ll be patient

If they are following the same methodology used during GW2 betas, they will have one planned per month and will stick with that unless development delays it

Actually, having worked in the games retail industry, retailers are often in the dark until the last minute.
Sometimes they get a week or two’s notice unless it is something massive like GTA etc. Sometimes, customers would go into the store on release day, only to find a particular game had been moved back and no one had told the retailer..
Sometimes a game would even appear early!

So, notice to stores etc is no indication of anything at all.

Before BWE2 starts, they will most likely unveil the remaining specializations and throw them into testing. So far we’ve got the Revenant one vaguely announced, Engineer and Ranger teased, and Warrior and Thief yet to be disclosed… the time it’s taking them to just do that, I’d guess one or two months from now, if we’re lucky.

You keep telling yourself that Anet isn’t reputed for their speed.

Maybe at PAX, just like at Gamescon? Who knows?

it will be on 3rd anniversary 28th aug. double reveal of warrior + engineer coming up , double reveal of thief ranger the next week, baam just nice for hot to roll out.

they can always patch their game after HOT release, the release date is inconsequential nowadays with the advent of internet patching. Only thing is if it ships real half bake then maybe it will incur the ire of many player.s

thats why i’m still banking on 2nd weekend september…

especially with the “challenging group content” reveal at pax prime on aug 29th

I hope with the next beta, we can have guild chat enabled and possibly the chance to beta test the new guild chat system.

Hooefully not too long, I’m dieing to play revenant!

Probably a Elite Specialization or 2 may be announced beofre next beta unless they plan to announce all remaining 4 first before hitting next beta.

I’m still a bit surprised Ranger and Engineer’s Elite Speicalization the Forge and Druid are not fully revealed yet considering both Engi and Ranger were both shown in the reveal trailer for HoT.

Though considering they’re no longer releasing trailers for each Elite Specializationr reveal guess it is just balance and development still going on.
