How many Hero Points for Elite Spec

well considering normal lines are what 60 points I would expect the same.

then for skills seem to vary abit more there somewere bettwen 8-24 seem to be the norm so max 84 points

I don’t think so. Look at the elite skills.
At the beginning they were 10 and 30 skill points for each – a lot more than normal ones – 1, 2, and 6 skill points.

Unfortunately when I unlocked all the skills I don’t have their cost information anywhere anymore. But I assume that unlocking elite spec would take about 30%-50% or even double the points spent on core spec.

Because I want to play Staff Thief, but dont find current weapons fun to explore the world with.

I’d expect the Elite specs to cost more to completely unlock that the core specs, because I’d expect both the skills and traits to be included in the Elite track.

If elite specs use the same method as core specs, you can assume they’ll take an absolute minimum of 60 for the traits, 2 for the heal skill, 2, 3 ,4 for the utilities and 9 for the elite (80 total). The only reason why they might not make it higher is simply because hero points are a limited resource. In the future, they’re going to run into a problem where they’ll have to either flood the new zones with hero challenges, or make newer hero challenges award far more points. Either way, fully playing through the new content will eventually be a requirement.

Due to the complaining around having to play the core game to unlock your skills however, elite specs may not even use hero points. Awarding enough hero points through leveling was only a temporary delay to their complaining. If they didn’t want to do ~65 hero challenges, they certainly won’t like the idea of doing 100+. If ArenaNet fully caved, expect to see masteries used instead. That would make the change to hero points useless however and the elite specs were supposed to be character progression, not an account bound feature, so don’t count on it.

I’m estimating 84 as well.

Existing spec lines are 60, so I would guess 60 for the new spec.
Existing skill training that have 6 skills (1 heal, 4 util, 1 elite) are 24. Since we know the elite specs come with 6 skills, I’m guessing the same point cost there.

What we don’t know, is where/how they will be adding in the unique skins and such that we’ve been told will come with the elite specs. Those could be sprinkled in the lines, or they could be some type of reward track, or an achievement thing.

For reference, before they changed it to not needing the extra 65 challenges I got my alts to 100 challenges each (more for my two with world completion). After fully unlocking everything on my 80’s I had at least 100 points still on each, usually a few over 100, likely due to having done challenges that didn’t count to the 189 for world completion. I unlocked by clicking the last icon in the circle on the trait lines and each line was 60 points.

So unless they do another iterative change, I would guess you need 60 points for the Elite line. If more skills are needed, more points as well, but I didn’t pay much attention to the unlock points there as there were different numbers of skills in some lines (I think).

At least there’s more time available to accrue the points now for those that didn’t work on it already.

I hope it’s a lot, like genuinely loads. The game is too flipping easy and one of the coolest ways to introduce meaningful content is to actually award the player with meaningful new skills to work toward.

Inb4 casual “but hardcore players will be better than me!” Yes, of course they will. They live and breathe this game, and deserve to be better.

Is the only thing you have to do to unlock the elite spec is have the hero points? No quest chain thing? How are we earning our elite spec skins (new wepaon skins, rev armor, etc)?
