How about a Tempest revamp:
Gain access to using a warhorn and gain a new elite that will ‘overcharge’ your warhorn and turn you into ‘one with the attuned element’; giving you a new form and 2 (or perhaps even 5) new, element-based warhorn weapon skills AND give attunement swapping a more dramatic effect, making more impact on spot (skill effects) and visually impressive. Give those a crazy synergy with shout skills to make it all interact a bit more and to make the warhorn a bit more appealing… Trying to change the same skills the announced tempest changes, but with a more thematic feel.

Just take tempest and fire specs, equip a staff and condition gear, and watch the world burn.

why do that? there’s nothing in the Tempest line that benefits you there, you’re better off with the standard fire/water/arcane line.

It would be nice if there was some upside to the Tempest, but there isn’t. It’s a slightly different version of D/D with a handful of new animations that fills the exact same role as D/D has for the past 3 years.

That’s before we even get into how bad the Overloads are.

It’s terrible.

So basicly you are saying change this entire class to my idea with only 50 days left till launch. I mean no offense but that’s pretty ignorant, give feedback they can use, you know, on the class, not on what you think the class should be.

If you are looking for a cozy mature Dutch guild (EU) let me know.

Give feedback that they don’ hear you mean uh?

There is a kittenton of detailed feedback into this particular spec on elementalist forum, detailing all the problems and how terrible it is.

What we get as “Changes” is some changes into numbers and thats all. Well, at least finally necro have some love since reaper has all the attention.

This is hardly surprising though. It’s the same situation with Dragonhunter. It’s become increasingly clear that “When It’s Ready” was just a catch phrase and there was always a concrete deadline that the scope of changes had to be scaled to. Considering that we’re eight weeks out from launch, I’m not confident that the struggling elite specs will be in anything resembling good shape by release.

Tempest is only useful with fresh air.

Tempest is a boring elite because Ele’s are overpowered. It’s basically that, Elementalists as a profession is near perfect. Which makes it extremely overpowered. You can’t really do anything to change a near perfect profession can you? Though I get the rising feeling half the specializations changed since the announcement. I can almost assure you thief changed from rifle to lolstaff. Which is the single biggest disappointment I’ve ever had with specializations.

Disclaimer: Under no circumstance should you take this seriously.

There was never any evidence to support rifle. Some people were just stating what they wanted.

Can you decide yourself? I, among other players have been giving feedback in the elementalists’ forums. Not sure how balanced and tangible our ideas/feedback are, but we all agree the elite spec concept as a whole needed more identity and usefulness, even if it means nerfing base class to accomplish that. Now, they do what they feel it’s fair with the feedback we’ve been providing. We will see how much popular and used the spec will be, specially months after the xpac release.

There is a lot of conflicting things with specializations. Tempest is on the list of “Not very well thought out in any form” list. Other notable members are, Mesmer and Warrior. As boring as tempest sounds, to me it’s better than Chronomancer. At least overloading an element is a new concept and something kinda new. A new shatter, in addition not replacing, that’s on a 60s cooldown doesn’t change crap. Mesmer, the lowest damage class in the game, that’s only brought for it’s unique support got……..more unique support options. Yup thats freaking awesome. Instead of yeah know boosting damage, adding blast finishers or SOMETHING. You gave us a unique support buff. Great just great.

As damage, tempest sucks. If you’re a berserker wearing damage user it’s boring. As a support elementalist it seems fun. Gives me an option to not be staff and have some great support. As boring as tempest sounds, it provides amazing support elements. Of which elementalist wasn’t exactly lacking though. Which is what I mean by near perfect class as a whole. A staff berserker ele could very well provide amazing support because of water element, in addition to being some of the best damage in the game.

Honestly now, I think elementalist should only be wielding the elements they specialize in, but give them weapon swap. I think it’s a fair trade.

@heartless, but you fail to see overloads as a whole. Read the elementalists’ forums, people are annoyed by the mix of: channeled+melee+no stability. You are just making yourself a vulnerable doll who’s about to get interrupted. The very raw concept isn’t really bad, but it has such a poor execution. And since eles already have damage, we wanted more appealing traits and effects. Fire and Air didn’t even need to deal damage, but provide cool effects. Our elite is… something… I can’t even comment on.

And you are devaluing chronomancer’s Continuum Split. Just like you can land two healing/utilities, you can also land two Time Warps, or two Phantasmal Berserker. You can do almost anything twice.

Minor quibble here, when Continuum Split ends it returns your health to the point it was before you split. Using it try and double heal is just going to waste your precious, and very limited, split time. But beyond that, I absolutely agree with you.
