I just watched an informative video.
It’s rather easy to lay-out and communicate information when you have been rehashing the same formula/content for the past ten years.
It wasn’t that much more informative.

Considering that game is down to 5.6 million subscribers (44% subscriber loss) in less than a year, I bet they are doing what they can to bring people back.
ANet may give it to you.

How do you figure?
You’ve got your continent with all the zones clearly labeled with screen shots, some video. All the group content named and listed. Class themed home instances. You’re handed a precursor that you gradually build into a unique themed legendary for your class and spec. They not only redid the PVP system they detailed how its going to work. Seriously they showed you more info in that video than ANet has teased out for us since the expansion announcement. After watching that video I got the impression that the product is done and ready for beta.
I wouldn’t play that game if it were free to play. Honestly, if that’s your cup of tea, you should be playing it. It’s not my cup of tea and it never will be. I’d give up MMOs first.
Aside from that, if you actually bothered listening to what that player base says about their own game, it’s as bad or worse than what this player base says about this game.
Vayne I was only pointing out that the announcement trailer had more information packed into it than what we’re getting from ANet; as I said before this isn’t me saying GW2 sucks I intend on playing both games, but I am saying ANets presentation of what we’re actually getting does suck and perhaps they should have made a video like Blizzard did which was way way more informative.
Anet has a different way of presenting what we’re getting. They do it for a reason. You may not agree with or like the reason, but that won’t change how they do it.
There are two reasons why Anet doesn’t preannounce stuff (to my knowledge). The first is that they’re not just running by formula, they’re trying new things and those things can change. Announcing something and taking it back is simply bad business. This is made worse by the fact that Anet needed to announce the expansion early because people on the forums forced the issue by talking about it so nonstop that it was affecting pretty much everything.
The second reason is that each time they announce and go into detail about a new feature, all the MMO sites post an article about it, which keeps the name in the public. If all the information was given up front this wouldn’t happen.
Another game might have a very nice war chest with which to pay famous actors to make television commercials. Anet is not in that boat.
The whole situation is different, which is why the business is handled differently.

I see you also posted about this in Rubi’s post asking what we want to know about a certain Mastery Line.
Neither the time or a place for you bringing up WoW, mate. I mean, it’s nice that you’re happy for another game and all, but perhaps you should try reddit or something instead to bring up other games in the GW2 forums?

Looks like their forums are down (or my iPad is being obnoxious). However what I saw of forum titles, they didnt sound too happy with what they know of the new expansion. Maybe that company would have been better off with a little more mystery. ^^
ANet may give it to you.
Last expansion in that game was November of 2013 and in the beginning of 2015 there was 1 new raid and world boss … I’m happy with the GW2 pace.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
