I just wanted to say that I haven’t had this much fun with GW2 in some time. I’d done everything I could do in terms of experiencing content, and had done so over, and over, and over…. I was getting burned out, bored….
Thank goodness HoT came when it did. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about it, but I’ve been taking my time, exploring it deeply and relishing the different experiences. I have pretty much explored everything in VB now, barring one or two items like that mastery in the vb canopy jp.
But I’ve since then moved on to Auric Basin, and just started exploring that next.
Some things that I loved from HoT so far:
*Throwing rotten fruit at a religious zealot hylek
- having a jam session with a hylek
*laughing out loud, literally, when two skritt were having literal shinygasms over being in an gilded area surrounded by enchanted armors and just being ecstatic over being literally surrounded by shinys
*listening to a skritt have a conversation with an exalted enchanted armor head, and calling him… what was it? Shiny Head? And hearing the head protest that it was it’s name
Plus exploring is far more interesting than it’s been in other maps, between the verticality and such.
And I have so much to do!
*work on my legendary track
*finish unlocking my specs for my engineer and my revenant; necro and chrono already done
*work on my four main character’s collections for their weapons
*work on the mistward armor collection
*explore the rest of auric basin, partipate in those events, then move on to the next two
*do the story
I can understand why some people may not enjoy it, but for me it’s just been an immense please… and I still have two maps to go AFTER this.
Now that being the case, I’m not sure how so many people rushed through it so fast. Of course, I’m a semi-casual player – I play a lot, but I have family, work, other issues, and I have serious gamer ADHD, heading where the wind takes me, but it leaves me with lots to do and enjoy for months to come.
Hopefully by the time I do get it thoroughly explored I’ll feel ready to do raids, and hopefully as well hear info on another expansion.
