For just 2 hours, I don’t imagine we will see the new zones either?

No matter how cool guild halls may or may not be, it’s all noise until they tell us about what god forsaken/unbelievably amazing stuff is coming for this little part of the system I like to call OUR CHARACTERS.

For what I understand you will have access to a new zone (probably the one they’ve been showing in the demos) but that’s probably it. It’s a beta stress test. The real goal is not “hey come check out this new stuff” but “hey come to this area so we can stress test our servers”. I know that’s how it was when they did a beta stress test for the actual game

No problem lol. Although I did not receive an invite I’m pretty confident it’s just one zone but let’s hope they are generous and they let you check out more than that. I would love to know more about guild halls and specs. The fact that they have not really said anything about the content of of the test makes me believe there’s not much to it but here’s hoping

Oh, hey, I heard that on Tuesday you’ll be able to play the Ranger Specialization (but not the others) since they already showed it in trailers.

It’s a stress test with a small amount of players. That means they need to keep the population concentrated or there wouldn’t be enough load to stress anything.

We are getting a temp character slot. We can create a new character. Play in the starting zone for temp character. Die horrible screaming deaths. Test the servers and basically have some fun. When the test is over the character is removed. So log in and explore, fight, and enjoy the test. Look forward to release of HoT.

This is a stress test. you will be in a small part of one zone with 10,000 other people, and you will mostly just crash over and over again I suspect. That is the point of a stress test, they keep loading up the server until it breaks. Then they see what breaks, optimize it and repeat until they’ve optimized everything they can, then they set the population cap at a point where it won’t crash with the optimized settings.

If you are going to be playing the demo version at PAX I can verify that you will be playing the event chain (possibly a Living Story episode?) that leads up to the Wyvern, which you will fight and kill. It is possible you get to play the stripped down version of Revenant. This means the weapons you can use are: Hammer, Mace, Axe and the two legends that have been announced. You will only have access to 3 trait lines (Precision, Toughness and something else I can’t remember… not Power for sure). You will get to assign ONE mastery point so put it into gliding otherwise you can’t get to the Wyvern. All in all, the demo is fun so go ham.

I don’t know… I’d like guild hall stuff (but I’m afraid it’s not going to be as extensive as I like), I’d like specializations (but I’m afraid it’s not going to be as extensive as I like). Well I guess no matter what info they release I’d no longer have to worry about how extensive it is or not.

We also need to test event scaling and other zone-related factors. Much like how when HoT is released and 90%+ will in the same 2-3 zones.

No Acended gear, no full traits, stats that I don’t usually use, new skills to learn while fighting. I’m expecting that I’ll be seeing the Revenant’s down skills, a lot. ^^

Guild halls are not going to be part of this as we aren’t really going is as guild members but as beta characters. As I understand it, the guild halls have to be built. And I bet they are further in to the Maguuma, not at the Pack crash site.
