I haven’t pre-ordered yet; is it too late to access the beta weekend if i pre-order now?

If you pre-purchase now, you will be fine. You receive your pre-purchase items within ~4 hours maximum (usually 5-15 minutes) after applying the code, and the Beta runs all weekend. You would see a Beta slot pop up after applying the code and everything gets processed.

As long as you get your code before the beta starts you’ll be fine. So if you buy it in-game, from the GW2 website or buy a digital copy elsewhere you’ll definitely get in. You’d also be able to get in if you bought it during the weekend, but I assume you want to play from the start of the beta.

If you buy a boxed copy* it depends on how fast the shipping is.

*yes they exist, what doesn’t exist is a boxed collectors edition with physical items.

Just a few things to be aware of for the beta starting tomorrow.
- You will not be able to play in any of the HoT new maps.
- If you create a character in the beta slot you will not be able to keep any rewards or drops you get on that character for your regular account.
- If you create a revenant you will only be able to use the 3 legends and 4 weapons already announced for it.
- You will be able to play PvP Stronghold with the announced Mist Champions.

So if you want to play Stronghold or test out the revenant in familiar surroundings this may be the test for you.

My only question is if you do a daily or world boss with a revenant will you be able to do it again with a regular character and get the reward to keep.

Just bought the expac an hour ago and my beta slot is there. Here’s the official words from faq here at gw2
I haven’t seen this on the subreddit yet so I thought I’d share what I just read on the pre-purchase FAQ.
“All accounts that become eligible by July 9 will have their free character slot applied by July 10. Eligible accounts that are upgraded with a pre-purchase serial code after July 10 will receive their slots on a weekly basis after that.”
Arenanet will also
“…begin refunding accounts on July 12, 2015, and approximately once per week after that until the first week of August. Once your refund is processed, it may take up to five days to appear on your statement.”
Refunds apply to purchases of the Guild Wars 2 core game where
“The core Guild Wars 2 serial code was purchased from buy.guildwars2.com or in-game and applied to your account between January 23, 2015 and June 16, 2015
The Heart of Thorns serial code was pre-purchased from buy.guildwars2.com or in-game and applied by July 31, 2015”
