If all i do is Wvw and sPvP, Do i need to buy HoT? I’ve never touched PvE never plan to.

Unless you think that the Revenant and things like the “Dragonhunter” are worth $50+, probably not.

So for the whole specializations things, ill need hot?

although the current trend would lead you to think they will add some new superior stat to wvw that you can only get in hot to force you to upgrade to be competitive in wvw.

Not the “Whole” Specializations thing, since the base specialization system is affecting everyone and drops this Tuesday.

But yeah, the Elite specilizations that grant you a new weapon and a whole new skill type are expansion locked. If that’s all you want out of it, I’d say that by itself is not worth the $50, but that call is yours to make.

Stronghold PvP and the new WvW maps AREN’T expansion-locked (unless Anet changes their mind on that too) so for now at least, you’re still getting most of the content that’s relevant to you either way.

You will always need the classical roles as well.
It’s not like everyone will play elite specialisation only, from then on.

I main engie, and we have so many changes to the class and traits, it’s basically a new specialization to begin with. I have a shiny new orbital strike cannon! I don’t need a stinkin’ hammer.
