then is there a chance that spears will be able to be used on land? I know there will be no new weapons, but has there been any definitive word on if any classes will be able to use spears on land, just like Rangers will be able to use staffs?

I’m not asking for speculation, just wondering if there is a definite answer saying no, like we have a definite answer that there will be no new weapons.

Devs already stated that no new weapons will be added in HoT, only current weapons will be unlocked among the classes.

I know that, what I am asking is if spears fall under current weapons to be unlocked among the classes. There are already spears in the game. Has that been definitely ruled out?

From HoT yes, land spear isn’t a current weapon since no one can use it.
But they didn’t ruled out from future updates/expansions

So that is a definite no, we won’t be able to use spears on land, even though they are in the game. That is disappointing.

Indeed. I’d love to see spear in GW2 just like we had GW1.

I’m really hoping for bows being available on more classes. Bows of both types, rifles, hammers and maces are each used by only 2 classes at present.
