If its not to late...
Hm… I actually agree… however it’s completely arbitrary.
Arbitrary or not, it would help with the 4,000 posts from people who have mistaken this for an aggro mechanic :/
Yeah; I suppose… even though I think from the blog post it’s pretty clear that it isn’t introducing aggro to the game; people just read “taunt” and freak out.
Tell a hungry man he’s got ‘egg on his face’ and he’ll try to take a bite… lol :/
TBH i’m not a fan of either terms, but taunt rolls off the tongue better. provoke is too much of a truncated word, if that makes any sense.

I agree, also the functionality isn’t that different from the WOW taunt in it’s core idea
FUN FACT
quite a long time ago on WOW free servers, taunt used to work in PVP for a while and it worked exactly like taunt in GW2 now sometimes even a bug can invent something new
yes prevoke sounds alot better, cuz u cant taunt a fish or a moa or an oak tree, words wont make animals attack you, PREVOKE how ever, ever saw 2 cats screaming at each other? same thing
While we at it. lets change Ranger class name into Hunter class name. sounds better….
