Is expansion P2F? pay to play?
or we just get at regular update?
and how much is this?

It will be buy to play, like guild wars 2 is. How much is not said, I’m expecting $40-60, $20 at the least.

I assumed he was saying something much more vulgar, implying that a bunch of intense ERP features would be behind a paywall.

if i keep playing only warrior, am i not be able to fight against new class guy and also not be able to use Stronghold pvp content? as well as skins and pvp amulets that are available for expansion. original users and expansion users get seperated server?

I wouldn’t count on being able to use any of the new content without buying at all. I’s possible, but work from an assumption of ‘no’ and be pleasantly surprised.

About the class, their plan seems to be to keep the specialties about equal in power to the base classes, kind of a give/take thing. HOw well they succeed is still to be seen.

When the new expansion is released, you buy it. When you install it, the content will be added to the current GW2 content. It’s the same game, just new content. You’re current character will have access to all of it.

They wouldent split servers you just cant use the expansion stuff, dont see why they would add new pvp amulets arent all the stat combos there already.
No stronhold pvp without expansion, i would think you could buy stuff of the tp and get skins that way.
They other guy will be able to play his warrior diffrently then you not more powerful in anyway.

I think masteries and specializations will be restricted as well, but only ones that have to do with Heart of Thorns (such as hang gliding). Don’t quote me on that, I’m not 100% sure.

The masteries clearly being said to be unlocked if you own heart of thorns. I would think the same goes for specilizations aswell.

Might gonna sound like an kitten… but why should people get expansion stuff when not buying the expansion? Isnt that sorta like…stupid example…but buying a box of legos to build a tank engine without wagons and later when they release the wagons as extra boxes asking how many free parts you get from the boxes you didnt buy? Dont get me wrong.. i dont mind either way…but just sayin. Its sorta weird… afterall you did get your… theoretical tank engine you paid for and its yours to keep…you even got free extra parts to it (LS) and now comes the box with the wagons and ppl ask whats free? Huh…well… is weird.

Becouse they are masteries and you dont get it if you dont buy hot as stated in the line in copy pasted for you.
Same as you dont unlock the ability to level masteries without expansion you will still be in the old system gaining skillpoints each level up.

The things I expect to be free for everybody: The new borderlands and stronghold. Because there is no way to limit that content to those who have the expansion.

Everything else will no doubt require you to have the expansion.

My guest is that you won’t have access to neither. You will gain experience at level 80 like you do now but won’t be able to gain mastery. And you probably won’t be able to activate the specialization.

Maybe not. The new borderlands seem to be like a 5th maps, so it could be only accessed by player with HoT.

Stronghold could be a new mode completely with a separate queue. In that case it would be easy for them to limit it to only HoT players.

The sad truth is, that it will be “Pay To Farm” …

It’s going to be buy to play however….

It remains to be seen if they will actually fix their pay to progress model they have now in which loot is so terrible the only means of progression for new players is to either grind out gold or buy it from the gem exchange in order to progress by buying the drops from the TP.
