I need this for the luminates backpiece collection.
According to both the wiki and the ingame description it drops of nodes in Auric Basin.
I have been mining for days now, burning through quite a few Orichalcum Mining Picks of 50 uses each, and the item simply never drops.
The fact that Auric Basin has so few mining nodes that you have to switch instances every 10 minutes doesnt help either.

Is the droprate this item bugged?
Even with a low droprate I find it hard to believe it has not dropped for days…

EDIT: I have the Exalted Gathering Mastery unlocked.

Might be a stupid question, but do you have the Exalted Gathering mastery?

I will edit my main post to clarify that.

I got the item reasonably fast for my collection once I’d progressed it far enough to obtain (though that progression requirement has since been removed, I believe).

It might only pop up from actual Orichalcum nodes, so try to find and mine those. They have some locations where they tend to appear, and there should be one Rich Orichalcum Node in each instance somewhere, so aim for them!

You shouldn’t be getting more after get one for your collection. o_O

A resurrection but only to help those that feel this is bugged because the rng is treating them unkindly.

I had to mine at least 60 Nodes before I got mine today. It came from an oricalchum node, and I was using a regular NPC bought orichalcum pick. I normally use my Watchwork pick but I wanted to eliminate any possibility that the Auric lodestone was kept from dropping because of the sprockets that randomly drop with this pick.

I do not think these are on the same loot-table anyway, but as long as an Anet dev does not chime in on this to clear this up, I was playing safe.

So not bugged!

(Btw, I think Kumouta was talking about Auric Slivers, not Auric Lodestones. The slivers indeed drop about every other node).

Not bugged, just an insanely low drop rate. Took me 2 days and around 200 nodes i think to finally get it. Just keep going i’d say.

Unfortunately, this is subject to really stupid RNG. I feel bad for those who had to wait for 60 or the insane 200 nodes of farming before getting their Lodestone. I literally got it on the very first node after training Exalted Gathering. I completely forgot about needing the Lodestone and was startled by all the bells that went off after my first pick strike.

I hate RNG

Been trying for this for the last several days. Yes to exalted mining, yes to last piece of the collection, no to getting it. Having to hit this many nodes for a single piece is running towards stupid.
