Well i heared that kind of thing while watching a stream, so i dont remember who of Anet said this, but is that a thing? If so, that means you will fix the whole AI of the game and every Dungeon? Im curious, because this would be a good thing and make the lives of some peole easier like Necros or Rangers i guess.

Also, how will you make the Raids hard? Does that mean you will change the simple fact until now that dodging and movement is everything and will make tanks,healers, supporter and dds a thing in GW2? Ofc iam aware it wont be in the classic way of other mmos…

No way to tell at this point. I don’t think anyone beat the boss in the raid, but it was only up for a tiny bit, so no one really got much chance at it. Apparently the trash mobs before the boss were pretty easy though.

Also, the open world mobs had their difficulty lowered, supposedly and we still haven’t seen the higher level fractals.

If zerk will be dead, it’s not because of anything we’ve really seen yet.

In terms of the stat itself, for what we’ve seen of the raid so far, a 10 man zerker group will not be able to clear the first boss simply because there is an add you can only damage with condition damage. Given that there is an enrage timer on the boss, you wouldn’t be able to kill it fast enough with only zerker groups.

Not to mention the unavoidable aoe damage and the somewhat avoidable aoe damage.

I am thinking that your raid group is probably going to want 5-6 zerkers, 2-3 condi, and 2 healers

So the “zerker only” meta is gone yes….however if you are going power and you know the mechanics of the fight, zerker is still the way to go

PvE major events and dungeons – zerk all the way.
PvE solo roam – player choice zerk or get some defense
Raids – hard to tell ATM, but most likely will be a mix, so not full zerk.

As information now gathered says there will be a boss immune to DPS in the raid.
So DOT will be neccesary. A-Net wants healers as well.. dunno if they are essential…
All other thiungs will arise when bbuilds and group builds are getting a more physical form. in the end some Zerk might stay alive, but any toughness will aid healers greatly. any points not having to be replaced gives healers less stain to keep players up longer/ forever.

In PvE generally
Zerk is king… well most of the time,
Healers are well, not needed,
Support is well, optional
Conditions are optional, and very underpowered until lvl 35+
CC is mostly useless

In PvE @ world bosses
Zerk is king… if you know how to stay alive
Healers are well, sometimes usefull
Support is very welcome
Conditions are optional
CC is mostly useless

In Dungeons generally
Zerk is Meta…
Healers are well…, not needed
Conditions are mostly useless.
Support is very welcome
CC is mostly harmless, but occasionally very usefull

In Fractals generally: —-> see dungeons

In WvW generally
Zerk is laughable unless you are ranged DPS (ranger/ele/necro)
Healers are well, everywhere
Conditions are very nice while roaming
Support is mandatory
CC is everywhere.

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

That’s PvP, not PvE.

For “oldschool” content, berserker stats are still going to be the clear go-to stat set.

For HoT content, that remains to be seen.

The most artificial of barriers they could possibly have come up with…carrying around multiple gear sets. So does that mean there will be mobs/bosses that can’t be damaged by condi, or will only power gear users have to carry around extra gear sets?

Zerker will always be viable and useful, but the “full zerk party” meta is dead. Yeah.
At least for raids.

I have already prepped 4 sets of gear for my Revenant, 2 full ascended, 2 mixed exo/asc.

Not in BW3 when everything got nerfed. I think it got killed in BW2 though. Not many people will use berserk stats in that challenging content.

Once people get used the expanssion content they will go back to full zerk.
We’ve done the raid got to the boss and once the timer hit everyone died.

There were few people who died before due to ‘testing different stats’ but other than that zerk was absolutelly fine in all 3 weekends. I had a little bit of issue adjusting to Zerk Reaper but once I got that down it was pretty facerolly trough bw2…

I’m not gonna comment about scrapper and druid due to mobs being downscaled and I couldn’t figure out full power build that utilise the specialisations to the max.

Also zerk is one of the least forgiving sets to play thus it requires most skill.
It doesn’t surprise me that a lot of people want it gone.

I have played this game since beta, and did my share of zerker dungeon farming and zerker everything for the 1st year and a half, then played everything else.

Then I basically quit, in part precisely and exactly because of the zerker staleness and I came back to the game only for the condi patch, which so far, I am somewhat disappointed with outside of PVP environments, but at least condis work in PVP now except large scale WVW in which they still need a buff.

So it would be great if they change things up and playing other builds becomes viable. Game was originally supposed to be composed of a “soft trinity” DPS, Control, Support, and high end content was supposed to be completed in an optimal manner using the trinity but was still able to be done when that trinity is missing but in a sub optimal manner.

This failed. According to A-Net themselves, largely due to a gamewide design flaw within the content itself. So now they are trying to get back on the original path, but hard to say if or how will that succeed, I can only hope.

I’m finding knights armor to be better and better these days. I looked at three different builds with warrior and thought with the new specs knights stats would be perfect no matter what weapon you use as long as you’re using berserk specialization. But on the other hand ranger and guardian could do well with the zealot it seems. I only got to try a few different builds in beta. One was for a warrior where i went soldiers and did decent dmg, then realized i had no crit chance and then say the trait for increased ferocity depending on precision. The other one i tried was thief all assassins gear. So squishy, but the dmg with the staff is pretty crazy though.

Not really, in BWE2, I was mostly testing new specs, which were mostly DoT specs (since Berserker special is suppose to be a bleed spec), and I mostly roamed around. But the zerk necro did fine.

Then i went back to zerk warrior with GS, was doing better and surviving more than I was on Berserker condition build (and that was using rabid gear with toughness).

That’s a pretty good question, Everything in the raid shout to me go zerker, you need one hell of a dps to beat these boss in 8 minutes. On the other hand you also need to survive a bit… I guess zerker will still be king but you’ll also have need of other stats.

I really feel it illogic to say : “Let’s get rid of this zerker meta!” and build a Raid with time gated bosses that need a lot of DPS, something you get from playing zerker.

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

My point is also, in terms of making gold etc, if the old Dungeons remain as they are, the new content will simply not beeing used after people got their skins because they can make the same or even more ammount of gold with less effort.

I’ve ran burning guard, berserker, burning ranger through dungeons
(20+ stacks of burning on guard or (10k-12k dmg)
12-14 stacks of burning on berserker and 20+ stacks of bleeds or (5.5-6.5 and 4.5k)
10-14 stacks on ranger, but ranger can stack 12-15 poison and 15+ bleeds as well, not yet including pet dmg (4k-6k fire, 3.2- 4k poison and 3.5-5.5k bleeds) per tick in spikes

Problem tends to be
I get kicked from berserker parties as I run condi weapons and sinister gear/ weaps /trinkets
also staying alive on burning guard tends to be a bigger problem then any other dps build… you’ll be runnig some skills for utility only for firefields….

Other than the new breakbar being applied to old dungeon bosses I dont think anything else will change. Some fractals might get work (havent seen it stated, just guessing) but dungeons are pretty much dead as far as development goes (that was stated), so most pre-HOT content will still be mostly zerker.

Well, the enrage timer in the first shown boss of the raid encourages the use of berserker gear but you also need condition damage to proceed. So apart from the raid being a mix of optimal raw/condition damage and about 2 healing power specced guys, I don’t see the berserker meta going anywhere.

If you can dodge plus use your class specific active defense mechanics and not get hit, optimal dps gear will be used, aka berserker gear. If there are more bosses which are weaker to conditions or bigger healthsponge bosses then rampager gear will probably be a preferred gearset.

A lot of this depended on how the druid worked when it was revealed. Unfortunately, the druid simply doesn’t work and instead gives roughly the healing of the ele or revenant, at the cost of removing one damage dealer from the party.

It doesn’t do damage, so surely it should heal really well….and it doesn’t even manage that.

I don’t believe for a minute that zerker is going anywhere. GW2s combat style supports and enables it too well.

It will always be better to kill things quickly than to drag out a fight. It will always be better to evade or block damage than it will be to heal that damage back.

Long live zerker meta.
