Hi, given the unfortunately news of the halt on Legendary Wep. a lot of ppl have gotten really mad.

But the reality is that there is more to consider.

When we see a Legendary there is more in depth requirement that no one is addressing and ANET has to look at before they continue making them.

There is the fact that to get to lv 500 in a crafting profession before it wasn’t hard before, but now once you get to lv400 you need to make materials that did not cost as much in the past because they changed the recipes (witch btw it does not make any sense) and this stupid changes are at fault for making the “Legendary Journey” cost SOOOO much that it is better just to buy them in the TP.

So yeah… we did pay for something that has been put to a halt as we paid for a game with a lot of water content that has not get any updates since vanilla launch and things do not improve if you never work on them.

And ANET is not stupid, they know their stuff and I will see what happens with this in the future since I’m sure they are not going to let this Cash Cow die…

Now, I will say this… I have a custom of buying 10 dollars worth of gems in the in-game store each month to support this amazing game (and because I can and want to), but from now on I will only buy stuff when what I want is delivered, I support ANET, but I will not pay for hopes and dreams.

I don’t think that’s the overall issue. It’s just a symptom with the state of the game. But that’s another discussion for another thread.

Personally, I never did legendary crafting. Never intended to. And thank God I didn’t.

Gone to Reddit.

And ANET is not stupid, they know their stuff

I’ve seen very little evidence lately that this is true. If they “knew their stuff,” they would have known ahead of time what they could and could not reasonably deliver to their customers in a timely manner with regards to their legendary weapons and crafting. If they “knew their stuff” they’d have known the numbers of people making and using legendaries didn’t warrant the amount of work and time a new system required. If “they knew their stuff” they’d have understood their own people and resources and made a more accurate decision on all these things BEFORE they sold it.

What I’m seeing instead is a company that doesn’t seem to understand the capabilities and limits of their own staff and doesn’t seem capable of accurately predicting what they can actually accomplish and when. I’m seeing a company that is having a really hard time finishing the projects they start.

Yeah, I don’t see much these days that would lead me to believe that Anet as a whole does, in fact, “know their stuff.”

The problem isn’t that they come to the realization that Legendary weapons cost too much resources better serve elsewhere, or that it’s the smart decision.

The problem is that announced new legendary weapons 3 years ago, they announced it again with HoT saying that they will add them on a regular schedule after the introduction of HoT and they are still announcing them on their HoT website. The problem is that they marketed on them and then realized that it was a bad idea. I’m sorry, but in my job and with most job I’m suppose to know what I can and can’t do and don’t promise thing that I can’t do. It happen sometime and in those situation I know that I kittened up and anet Kittened up in that case whether or not it’s the best decision to make right now.

I still think there are other things more important that have also been promised, and they have yet delivered them.

Ppl are right to get mad (they paid for it for ALL the expansion marketed material). But the Legendary Journey is crap in itself and there are other more important things.

Like explaining the lore of how Elite Spec came to be? How the char became the first Revenant and how the hell player became rev as well? Things that actually improve the QoL in GW2 not just a weapon that allows you to change the stats at any time.

Edit:
Btw, we already have a Legendary Weapons for each one… the difference between the new one and the old one is a skin… a Beautiful shiny skin.

Nah, as we get tons of content in the next quarterly update, we will be distracted from all the drama.

Oh right.

Well, that’s only a preliminary post to warn folks of things that are vanishing that they might want to work on (fractal achieves) or not work on (scribing costs). MO’s language suggests there are other things planned in the patch as well.

He does point to his prior reddit post which covers a little more. April is where I’m (foolishly) hinging my “I can play this game again” hopes in making HoT more time-accessible.

Many alts; handle it!

it’s a particle effect on a weapon with adjustable stats. it’s about as pet rock as it gets! lol

for strategy, I would think you’d want to be less conspicuous about sparkles flying out your ears, like a kick me, i’m obsessive sign lol

That would be a cute marketing gimmick: “HoT — it’s not as bad as you think!” ^^

According to my immature name I seem not a big loss for the community.
