After hours of reading the forum this is what I found:

“It takes too much points to unlock Elite Specs, can you make it just a bit more accessible?”

The facts
Basic content/game mechanic locked behind an entirely unncessary grind to conceal the overall lack of fresh content.

Since when is having the very access to toys supposed to be farmed in GW2? There is nothing elite about elite specs except for the name. They are basically like a new type of a profession, yet they cannot be used to enjoy the new content until you spend days in the new zone doing the same old stuff you’ve been doing for years. This is such a blatant attempt at stretching the lacking content thin, it hurts.

It is gated. I have to level it to 80, which I don’t enjoy, in order to start enjoying it.

At least you can use it from the start. A few clicks and bam, ready to go. Can’t say the same about the elite specs. You have to farm before you can even find out whether you’re going to like them or not.

You can level them via tomes of knowledge from either login rewards or SPvP allowing you to skip over playing them at the point that you don’t enjoy through either waiting, or playing them at 80/playing a different class.

Eh, kind of. At least with elite specs once it’s unlocked (60 HP), you still have the rest of your skills to back up the missing traits and abilities. At lvl 1 you have your weapon skills and a heal, and that’s it. I’m enjoying the partially unlocked scrapper, but find my lvl 40~ rev a grind.
