Hi, been playing mmos since the 90’s and to this day I still think gw2 is by far one of the best mmos to date if not the best.

I mainly play solo been in a couple guilds got some high lvl characters and one level 80. I mainly keep my self to my self these days. I dont normally post on gw2 forums either but I have come here often enough to look for advice and such things.

I have tried desperatly to like gw2 for a while now but its been tuff since I like having a lot of skills or rather have a progression towards skills but on gw2 you basically get all your skills at a low level which for me is the most boring part of the game because you have these skills the whole of the game give or take some mix up.

When gw2 HoT was announced and the hype was real, I saw all new beautiful skills that I couldnt wait to try out, maybe just maybe I could find something thing that I enjoyed using.

In comparison to other mmorpg games, gw2 has a very low ammount of skills you can use while in combat. Other mmos you have whole screen taken up with skills that keep me happy enough.

So like the title says ive did my best to enjoy the best mmo but its sad to say I dont think ill be supporting the expansion. I think my self its very unfair to give the game away when all of us paid for it.

Thats what makes gw2 the best payment model, PAY = you own it no monthly crap.
Now your giving it away and only charging for the expansion. Something in my head just doesnt add up.

The customer is always right……..
Look what happened to SOE’s swg when they screwed over the vets on that game allmost all of the vets quit shortly after. Now the company doesnt even exist.

PS:
the music in gw2 is a work of Art all on its own, ill miss it……goodbye gw2 we just never hit it off properly.

It’s your choice to leave no one is twisting your arm to do so just relize Don’t leave on the account of the hype of this issue I’m a veteran player. Yes I think it would have been nice if Anet did something for us but it’s not a deal breaker for me, I’m staying and I suggests you think this over before you really regret your decision

Opinions are like ______ everyone has one I could
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens

well good luck mate, i know i will log on some time to try out the new stuff available in vanilla after the expansion is out
(i won’t be paying for it as it stands now)

also @Feirlista Xv, I kinda think it’s impossible for him to regret his decision since he keeps his account forever, the price might actually drop (it will certainly drop for sure given enough time), and then he might come to be thankful for his decision

I would suggest you wait until you’ve tried the balance patch on Tuesday – massive overhaul of traits.

It’s not the amount of skills you have, but how you use them that matters…

Dude its a b2p game, it was sold as a game u’d pay for base game + all Expansions, thats exactly as it was advertised, its Stupid to try make some sorta announcement u are suprised by that.. they have to make money somehow..

Dont think you understand what really failed SoE either tbh, it was released horrifically p2w and Overpriced to get anywhere, people quit cause it just had a bad model, by the time they fixed it players had already left, Veterans Leave games reguardless, games change and they’re never what they first joined or paid for therefore slowly the games are no longer to their taste or they just have played too long and need something new.

Customers are not always right, if u really beleive they could FOREVER support a expanding game with 0 Required income from anything past Base game you are ridiculous, no game Would stand a chance of Surviving on that sort of thing, They need money returns on expansions given out otherwise nthe game would just never have a Expansion and stay exactly how it is for years, people would leave if that was the case too.

its 2015, EVERYTHING costs money, nothings Truly free and MMOS are one of the most expensive game genres out there, if ur this unwilling to spend any money dont play them its simple.

I understand the game isnt to ur taste, that is fine it isnt everyones cup of tea, but to slash them for having a expansion is just upright stupidity.

If the main thing that interests you is a skillbar you play like a piano, then your better off finding another game as this one will never increase to more skills available at a time.

Good luck in your skill bar search.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

In gw2 one skill can be worth 3 skill in other rpgs.

For example thief’s blinding powder – it’s your party stealth, but also insta blast finisher, and blind. If traited also condi cleanse and regen application.

it can be used for any single one of these purposes for for few at once. So little skills is not true, the options and syngergies are massive, that’s why i love this game.

Still they did mess up with the basic preorder package, that one i won’t defend.

I’m sorry but I HATE the system you describe. The good old WoW million button syndrome. I am bloody glad this game does not have that and never will.

And as a veteran, no I don’t feel cheated. I don’t feel it’s a slap in the face. I don’t feel I am “owed” anything.

The customer is always right……..

This is probably the most overused and incorrect statement in history. Especially when it comes to technology.

90% of the time the customer doesn’t even know exactly what they want (or need). Oh, they think they do, but the majority of the time it’s wrong. Been there, tripped over that statement many times.

And before someone starts hollering that this is a video game, they need to cater to their player base, take a step back and look at what the player base desires. Almost 100% of the time we cannot even agree among ourselves what we want, and you expect them to just obey our desires? Ha.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Getting new players into the = Screwing vets over

You heard it here first.

You should be happy about new players getting it “cheaper”.
