One of the most underwhelming stories ever. Its short, nothing major happens you are basically running from zone to zone searching for prisoners and then you go to lost Asura city to find a way to defeat Mordremoth but instead you only learn that he has a weakness but you dont know what… Well kitten i just felt like all my effort was wasted at that point. Also that last fight what the heck was that? Its supposed to be grand earth shaking fight not some illusion that looks weaker than many other normal bosses. Also there was no epilogue and while i do know they continued it with LWS there should still be one for the love of god u just beat elder dragon.

Whoever is doing story for GW 2 should go play FFXIV and see how a ’’real’’ MQ should look like. And just for the record GW 2 is a game i like more but man they really suck at story.

When i played GW 1 Prophecies in 2005 (never played others) i remember story being amazing.

As far as the story is concerned, yes it feels rushed, but there is some context for it: we’re in the middle of a war, no time to slack off. In Rata Novus, learning that the dragon does INDEED have a weakness when the characters weren’t even sure is a good thing story-wise.
We fight Mordy in his mind, and he’s battling at the same time against the Pact in the real world (see Dragon’s Stand meta), so of course he can’t focus on 2 things and be fully in capacity.
The “real” Modremoth fight is the Dragon’s Stand meta, if you want a feeling of huge battle.

There is an epilogue for HoT, you’ll receive a letter on your toon.

The story in Prophecies is laughable most of the time, sorry. Your character does nothing on his own, always been told orders by someone, never complaining. You’d have told me Nightfall, okay, but Prophecies doesn’t have character development, your char is a vegetable that smashes things, literally. Why did we trust the guy that looked very unlikely to be our ally? I mean sure we had the same goal, but we were just tools. But that’s not the topic.

Also, you’re 2 years late to the party. And season 3 is by far the most impressive content they’ve created.

I am sorry but story could have been much better. What i said still stands you are just rushing from zone to zone tracking prisoners thats 95% of story.

Yes i know we fight him in his mind but it could have been made much better it just didn’t have that epic scale you would expect from elder dragon fight.

I didn’t get any letter maybe its bugged.

Story in Prophecies was amazing but i can understand why some ppl wouldn’t like it because it focused on world instead of character making it less personal.

As far as season 3 goes i wouldn’t know because its not free for me and i don’t have gold to buy gems now or in near future at the rate i am making gold

If you’re only counting instances as the story, you’re missing huge parts of the story, because half the story is in zones. For example the mordremonth fight in the instance is only half the battle with modremonth. The other is in Dragonstand. It’s done on a much larger scale.

While you’re engaging his mind in the story, what’s left of the pact is facing mordy in the real world. It’s quite clever really.

The problem is people think the story is only in instances and they miss a good deal of it.

All the events the HoT maps are part of the story too. Rushing through the instanced chapters is not the best way to enjoy the story. That being said, the story DO lacks strenght. It could have been much, much, much better.

that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”
