I can accept a lot of highly visible “forward facing” strength from a class that has no stun breaks and a locked-in healing skill…
Like most professions, Revenants look pretty dominant when they are dictating the terms of the battle. But what I’ve seen so far actually seems rather… brittle… if you apply pressure to it.

Yes, it felt underpowered to me, too. But maybe it was because of celestial instead of zerker gear?

Wiki is updated with coefficients. Hammers scales extremely well with power and i really can see it as second highest dps weapon in game right after a staff ele as long as you stay at max range.
They already mentioned the game was tuned, very specifically, to be very easy. they stated that directly, pointing out that it was done, so that a new player could handle playing in the test. I think that explains some of your feelings of strength.
So you made a thread to complain about an intentional testing decision that they made a previous announcement about.
I love this game. but this is very op’ed.. I understand, stress test, beta and all that. That said, we should provide feedback.
The timers are too short.. Blast finisher, lifesteal fields etc etc. Just way too op’ed of a class. Anet has to know this and there will be nerfs Which is a bad term being beta but if let us play and tone it down, we scream nerf..
Few folks in map keep saying how we have not seen what other classes get, but IF they match it , then everyone is op’ed.. Just silly..

I loved everything about revenant and the beta, I really have no complaints besides the minor glitching with the boss fight in which the boss appeared on ground instead of flying.
All things considered I thought the Rev class was well rounded and well balanced.

I did a thorough test for around 2~3 hrs, Revenant skills are really pretty darn powerful compare to some other classes. You can go read my post about “Revenant’s Overpowered Skills” I have full detail as to why they’re powerful.

there is a cooldown for swapping legends, I believe 7( or 9?) seconds per swap in combat.
While the heal skills had a 30 second cd regardless on if you try and stance dance.
I do think the Revenant in group play looks strong. Mainly the Rite of the Great Dwarf to me is too spammable and needs its energy cost increased and its effect duration slightly increased.
The Revenant has no reliable stun breaks without traiting for it. This is going to be a weakness that is either going to follow the class until release or fixed with the addition of more legends.
The hammer didn’t seem like it was “all that and a bag of chips” to me either. I think like others have said, adding pressure to the rev (especially when they have a hammer) is the way to go.
I don’t think the Revenant is going to be “OP”.
I do think it’s going to directly counter some playstyles and make others very difficult.
But this is all speculation playing an incomplete class, with incomplete traits.

Jalis elite is a stunbreak, and uses no energy if you cancel it after stunbreak! Revenant has INFINITE STUNBREAK!
Also, they can trait for stunbreak on legend swap.
at capture points spvp, revs will be owned. but stronghold and wvw, they will shine.

Yea total forgot it should work like weapon swap for other classes, still feels kinda bad that you either have to build around 1 grandmaster trait or 1 legend to be able to stunbreak tho

It’s going to be a utility bot in WvW and possible PvE.
I don’t see it being much of a killer vs a pure group supporter.
I think this is what scares people.
It has the ability to make group fights that much harder for pure zerk or condi teams
