I wasn’t sure if there was a thread like this already after a quick glance, so if this needs to be merged elsewhere I understand.
Legendary Armor Suggestions:
I’m fine with the required raids for the achievements as it hasn’t been too bad to work on or get help with, but 150 insights feels like its a bit steep ( 4 months of required raiding, all 3 wing clears).
If I may be so bold, it’d be nice to have a few other options to get Insights, such as:
1)Repeatable PvP or WvW Legendary Armor Reward Track that rewards a small handful of insights.
2) Adding a small handful of insights to the end of month Legendary Monthly Reward Chest
3) 5-man versions of the raids that offer reduced core loot and reduced magnetite shards but weekly insights
I know this would create some issues as there is a lot of raiding that is requiring you to ping your insights or proof of kill, but I would hope someone wouldn’t overstate their experience with those. I’m not asking for the insights to be handed out like candy or to undermine those who have put in the hard work already into earning them, but it would be nice to have a few options for those who do or prefer other aspects of the game.
A lot of MMO’s have easier versions of the raid for training that offer reduced loot. It’d be nice to have raid training that has the bosses that could be five manned. Obviously, I’d expect the loot to be nerfed, but it’d be nice to have challenging five man content for small guilds that might perhaps reward insights at the cost of reduced magnetite shards and drop rates.
Mastery Track Suggestion:
Having a Core Tyria Map Completion Mastery Track would be amazing! Some suggestions as to what would be in this track:
1) Enhanced movement speed like in core cities (Perfect for guardians or those who prefer other traits instead of the movement speed one)
2) Enhanced renown heart completion. Some of the renown hearts are just plain painful when you’re mapping on multiple characters. Having a mastery that rewards 25-50% increased renown completion rates would definitely reduce the tedium of frequent mapping.
This is merely meant as friendly food for thought and not meant to insight anger or indignant responses from hard core raiders. I’m in a budding raid group that’s getting started, but I believe GW should have content accessible to everyone, not just the hands of a select few, awesome players. I fully believe that the full 10 man raid should offer the best possible loot and rewards, but accessibility is never a bad thing for the smaller guilds and groups that prefer to run things with friends and also want to enjoy the content.

I like the idea of additional mastery enhancements and bonuses. Movement speed is always a good thing. I like the renown heart completion idea and have read in a thread recently about a suggestion for a heart booster from the guild bartender.
I also think some customizable cosmetic effects would be an interesting idea to toy around with.
As far as the raid stuff I still haven’t got around to doing any, but I would like to and plan on it.

I disagree with all your suggestions. Legendary Insights should stay 1 per boss per week in Forsaken Thicket raid only.
The masteries sound pretty stupid, too. Just water down the game even more.
What!? I have been raiding since the Spirit Vale release – 8 months and I am currently standing at 139LI. I still need 2 more weeks to complete my preparations for legendary armor and you think that 4 months is a lot?
I am all in for the 150 LI requirement = less people buying raids.
I also can’t agree to any of your 1-3 propositions. You basically want to farm insights.
I can see all the AFK people on WvW and on guild arenas on PvP – “Join red team for LI farm”. Adding LI to PvP and WvW reward tracks is unfair towards the people who raid for months to get the LI. Reward Tracks have nothing to with raids and also nothing difficult in them it’s a pure farm.

I’d like to see alternative methods of obtaining legendary armor instead of having to grind out raids, which is just as boring as any other grind in any other game- learn mechanics and timings and repeat until bored to tears.
It’s an extremely restrictive way to pigeon hole legendary armor (and obviously meant to force people to do raids whether they like them or not if they want best armor) but I guess they want to show off high raid participation to justify adding it in in the first place.
As a mostly wvw player (who would actually benefit most from legendary armor) I’d like an alternative route to obtaining the armor. Even if the stuff was tradeable that you require in order to make it- like ascended was meant to be before they decided to time gate all that too.
Raids will be the first to get legendary armor, but it will probably not stay that way forever. However, the skin should stay exclusive to raids.
Imagine if Anet released an easy PvE option for The Ascension.
I encourage you to believe in the idea that Triumphant and Hero’s Triumphant armors are the T1 and T2 precursors of the WvW legendary armor. It might come true.
