I was thinking, when legendary armor comes out, the stats swap we’ll be pretty useless since runes/sigils need to be replaced if you switched build. So my thoughts is, wouldn’t it be cool if they added so that either Runes and sigils on legendary items can be swappable without any items or anything. Just move it out of the legendary into your bag. Second option would be to make that runes are associated with your stats, So if you add your rune of the ranger to your legendary item when it has zerker stats, always when you switch to zerker stats it will have rune of the ranger there and if you switch to any other stats there won’t be any rune there unless you add one.

I just think either of these options would make legendary armor far more viable. So that you really get good value from obtaining legendary armor.

They should just make it like PvP, only you have to unlock the runes again, that way you can hot select runes/stats as you go ( as long as you are out of combat )

This is the problem ingame even now, and why most people do not like to change builds/practice with making builds as the cost of having to changes some runes is crazy.

This is one of the reasons myself and a lot of my friends haven’t went near raids, the having to change runes/stats, then when the next raid comes out change them all again, it just gets way to costly to do, and the game is hardly rewarding to begin with.

This is one of the reasons myself and a lot of my friends haven’t went near raids, the having to change runes/stats, then when the next raid comes out change them all again, it just gets way to costly to do, and the game is hardly rewarding to begin with.

With balance patches as awesome as the preview I don’t think you’ll have to worry about the meta ever changing.

This topic again? As many people have said in the other threads, Legendary armor will be about bragging rights. The stat swap is so you don’t have to make another set every time you want to change the stats. Lets be honest with our self’s shall we. Those of us with legendary weapons, how often do we swap the stats? I’ve got mine set to zurker and have never changed them, ever.

Another thing about the stat swap, it was added way back when. Originally legendary weapons where prefixed stats. So if you wanted you legendary to have a certain stat, you might have to transmute it. Also they where exotic level! The stat selection was added as a QoL thing to reflect the effort you went through. The stats where never intended to be switched every five seconds.

And lets face it, if they added sigil/rune switching then the rune sigil market would end up more worthless than it is now. We have very few sigils and runes worth anything, and we all know how much ANet like there in game economy.

Let me tell you how ANet will do this…

They will introduce a new tier of equipment. Let’s call it “Epic” gear. It’s pretty much Legendary gear in how you get it and stats, but the stats are set and you can right click it to choose “Remove Upgrades”.

Then, if you take a Legendary item, and the matching Epic item, and a few more expensive things, and toss them into the Mystic Forge, you’ll get the “Mythical” item of that type. That item will have both adjustable stats and ejectable upgrades.
