Guild Wars 2

Just purchased HOT and used my level 80 boost. I followed the green quest thing on the map back to my starting area. Back in the day I already did the original quest line and was hoping to jump straight into HOT content. Is this possible? How do I access it. I might of missed something in-game.

I know I need to earn more hero points for the elite spec, but what are mastery points about and how do those work? Whenever I look up elite specs they always talk about how to get more hero points from a WvW vendor.

To access the HoT content make sure you have the HoT story activated in your hero panel to start the first part of the story. This will lead you to the Silverwastes and start the part of the story to get into the HoT maps.

You will need more hero points to fully unlock your elite specialization. The ones in HoT award 10 point each. You can also earn one point each in core maps if you have not already earned them. However you will end up having to earn at least a few of the HoT hero challenges to fully unlock the elite. Lastly, in WvW you can earn proofs of heroics which you can spend to unlock/earn hero points: 10 proofs for one random HoT hero point or one proof for a core hero point.
