I can’t seem to get this to work properly for me… I’ve watched the guide videos and whatnot but the spark things never send me flying in the air, I always wind up plummeting to my death. What’s the trick?

You need to be using the dash skill at the moment you hit the light orb for it to automatically cause you to leap forward.

Depending on lag, that may mean you have to hit it well in advance.

There’s a couple of move skills. One is a long ranged jump to a targeted spot. Another is a speed boost.

What setting do you have on your ground targeting? I use the one that lets me move the green circle around with my mouse while holding down the cast key, then cast on key release. Set the center of the green circle on the spot you want to get to, release, off you go. I think it’s likely you just aren’t putting your cursor in the right place to set your target landing spot.

For jumping a large gap you jump forward then hit the speed dash. I don’t think any targeting is involved in that.

For skill 1 you need to press it a bit before the glow on the floor

I found that I had to use skill #2 THEN skill #1 to get the super charge that I saw in some online videos.

It’s not enough to just hit the spark. You have to be facing the direction of the spark the moment you hit it. Otherwise you will dash right through it and fall to your death.
