I was leveling a warrior recently and found out one of the traits needs to be found at the level 70 Personal Story. So, I raced through and skipped all cutscenes for my warrior’s personal story. When I reached the part where Destiny’s Edge version 1 are meeting in Lion Arch’s, it was done in the ruined Lion Arch’s. What gives?

Then if Heart of Thorn’s Lion Arch’s is the new and improved Lion Arch’s, is that personal story part going to use the new one?

Heart of Thorn’s may change alot of things in the maps around Tyria. So, the personal story will be done in these HOT maps.

Which makes no sense whatsoever to many parts of the personal story. The personal story should be in the past already, yet when we are doing it, the area is in the present. It will get worst after Heart of Thorns is added. New players will be in a Personal Story that have areas that changed due to HOT. When the second expansion comes? or living story season 10 and Lion Arch is blown away by Primodus? Is that meeting going to happen on top of a crater?

Is this ANET laziness or just saving time or both?

I don’t think HoT will change things all around Tyria, that is what the living world is for. HoT seems to strictly be about Maguuma.

I do hope the Anet does take better care in future to not break older content immersion with new releases though.

though personally seeing destinies edge meet in ruined LA didn’t break my immersion because my head canon used Scarlets attack as impetus to bring the band back together.

There have been a lot of threads on this since LA first burned. The gist of the outcome is that ANet doesn’t want to create a data overload by making separate maps to cover PS, so the current terrain is always going to show. It’s not laziness, it’s technical limitations.

Right now LA is a mess. The construction can’t continue forever right?

I think LA turns into a full war zone / lvl 80 area or gets rebuilt at the HoT release.
