Will it go on break for a while after the expansion hits, in order to give people time to play through it? Or will there be updates at the beginning, running alongside the expansion’s own storyline? Or will the expansions new story just replace LS for a year?

No doubt it will coincide with the traditional Living World hiatus, but at this stage all we have is speculation. I doubt you will get a proper reply from Arena Net either as they are not ready to give out any solid details on dates and things.

Im assuming now LS will be the events that fill the gaps between expansions, Looking like that atm

There won’t be LS updates while the expansion is getting released and they will probably take a while before going on with them.
