Guild Wars 2

First of all, I really like what you have created with GW2. It is a masterpiece in many ways and I have shown my appreciation not only by buying gems on some occasions but also with telling people how well done and elaborate this game is.

Thing is, our guild is really small (5 people) and we just recently persuaded old friends from an old sparely populated online game (from around 2002) to try out GW2 and some of them bought the game recently, apparently in the expectation of an upgrade to the new expansion with a discount. Even if I would not care much for the expansion policy myself, I am a bit sad that I received very “disappointed” messages from guildies about what is going on now, probably not playing for a while at best.

I might be solo roaming soon again. While I thank you, ArenaNet, for the time we had socializing, upsetting players like that is not a sophisticated move of yours.

Have them contact customer support. I’ve been hearing things about people being able to contact them and informing them of their situation, and Anet might be able to help them get the pre-purchase for something less.

They have not released anything official, but people like your friends are the real victims out of this; not veterans and definitely not players who never bought the game before.
