Perhaps I’m just not all that smart but I’m pretty close to finishing the personal story and I’ve had so much trouble trying to find the starting points for each section that I’m just about at the point of quitting the story all together. I basically come up on an area where I’m told to go and the location is x feet above where I’m at with no way that I can find on how to get there. I spent a few hours last night and this morning just trying to complete this one quest where you have to go open up the way to the hidden Asura city.
Thus far, this expansion has been more frustrating than fun to play and a dramatic difference to how things were in the last part of the story.
Being able to fly around is fun but Anet needs to put out some detailed directions on how to actually find your way around.
Do you mean The Way In?
The path is straightforward. You start at the tunnel entrance and just keep going down that one tunnel. If you follow that one tunnel, there will never be a part for where you need to go above where you are.
The only part there where you have an area above you is if you agree to get the sack for that one hylek, which is up on a ledge – but that’s not mandatory, just kill some chak to get the 10 enzymes if you can’t reach the sack.
That was the one! I actually finally just killed the chak to get the enzymes like you suggested. Talk about frustrating though.
I had the same problem. Spent over an hour trying to figure out how to get the spot when I noticed it was “optional.” By that time, I had enough of the material in my bags to finish. Frustrating to be sure. Nice thing is, doing it on other characters, I blow through it pretty fast now.
For those who want to use that sack as a short cut (it doesn’t give you all the enzymes, just a couple of them), you run up west of the green marker, hop a bouncing mushroom up, then charge through a mass of mordrem using whatever avoidance you have. Snag the sack and run for the cliff edge to jump off, pop stealth gliding, and awwwaaaaayyy you go.
The other optional source is the shady goods selling Nuhoch, and I’m not spending actual gold for a couple of enzymes or even for all the enzymes. So I just have to hope a chak attack is active when I am on that story step as otherwise it takes a while to hunt them down.

The trick to that one is to do that story just after the Chak Gerent has finished on the map. That way the nuhoch area is swarming with chak. That makes it pretty easy to get the enzymes quickly.
