Love Your Work for GW2
Henchmen were acceptable in GW1. Heroes simply destroyed the social aspect of the game. While they were implemented with the best of intentions, Arenanet recognized the flaw of the hero system in a full fledged MMO.
GW2 is already heavily weighted toward soloable content. All of the story instances are soloable, the open world is soloable. In truth it can be a very lonely game if you let it.
Make some friends to do the dungeon with. There are a lot of new players kicking around now. Go give those guys a hand! If you still haven’t done kanaxi/urgoz you really only need one friend. You don’t seem so intolerable you can’t make one friend.

unfortunately most of the players on dis forums have no love for the solo or small guild. i’ve sayd my peace about it, but most people respond like the pope above. that is, they dont’ care and think u should play their way. hence the direction anet seems to want to go w/ the game
best bet is to use the LFG and the note saying no speed runs or u are a beginner etc.

GW2 is an MMO (Massively multiplayer online) game. There is really only one direction to go. Adding AI companions and options to go solo makes sense only if player count have dropped to critical level.
As far as GW2 is concerned I would like to play the dungeons for instance. However, as you can tell many players kick you for being ‘uneducated’ to the run for whatever reason.
I highly recommend starting your own LFG in the LFG tool and clearly stating “new player, first time, casual pace”. As a veteran player, I seek out groups like this. Anyone who joins a group like that and starts to complain you don’t know what you’re doing is a complete moron and simply didn’t read.
You will find there is a large group of us that prefer running with newer players rather than elitist “pro players”.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
My guild is small, like two dozen, and we can accomplish anything the game puts in front of us. We help all who interact with us, not just new recruits but anyone that runs with us in any of the game modes. Not all of us are the villains you paint us out to be.
OP, maybe its not the guilds that are undesirable?
(By the way, an MMO isn’t designed to be played alone.)

Fact is, this is an mmorpg: MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER etc etc….
There are plenty of games designed to play solo. Diablo 3; the Witcher; Assassin’s Creed. Etc etc. Point being, if you are playing in an MMO, of which this is, it’s intent is to be a group play experience.
That doesn’t mean you have to play it that way. I play parts of it solo, and I’ve heard that you can solo some dungeons now, but as an mmo, it’s not really it’s intended design.
