Does this even drop from the pods?
I never had a problem with any of the other specialization weapon parts that drop from noxious pods,usually took 5 to 10 pods,this time I’ve opened 60 and still I got none drop.
Is this even in the loot tables from pods,and if yes what is the reasoning for making it’s drop rate so much smaller than the other weapon parts?

The pods generally seem to have a very low drop rate for the machined weapon parts – I’ve found the drop rate to be somewhere in the region of 1 in 20-30 pods from the seven weapons I’ve made (including staff), so while 60 is unlucky, it doesn’t seem implausibly so. The Mouth of Mordremoth reward chest has a much better drop rate (it might even be a guaranteed drop), so it might be quicker to do that if you continue to be unlucky.

Ok,something smells fishy here.
I just opened all pods in a finished DS,this included all random pods,all camp pods,and all the monster area pods and still no drop.
Also,I’ve done the DS meta dozens of times and I haven’t got a single part drop from the chest there,I guess because I didn’t have to wait for that.
Usually,after unlocking the collection I got the part from pods relatively easy,as I said in my op,within 5 to 10 pods opened.
Can someone verify that this is indeed in the loot drops and not buged or removed,so
I won’t be wasting my time with the RNG there?

Edit.And it’s not a guaranteed drop from the meta chest either,otherwise I would have gotten it this run.

But I just did the mouth meta and it didn’t drop.

Just checked to be sure.
It didn’t drop from the chest.200% participation,succesful meta map,neither the event rewards nor the dragon chest contained it.

That’s odd, I’ve made 3, and had one drop everytime I did the mouth meta, did you have 200% participation?

Are you actively looting the chest? You’re always too far away from it when the event ends, so it never gets picked up by autoloot.

Another thing that probably you have already checked, but do you have the Machined Staff collection open? And is this the first or second Elite staff you are making? (Bo/Yggdrasil). If it’s the second, you should already have credit for the machined staff without having to do it again (and thus not be able to get drops for the collection) and if you don’t have credit that’s where the bug lies.

Collection is unlocked.
It’s the Daredevil staff I’m trying to craft,I have not crafted the Druid staff yet,don’t even haver a Ranger.
I’ll try DS again later,just to be sure.

Interesting, I’m having this very same problem with the Machined Greatsword Hilt. However, you say you got it withing 5 to 10 pods?

EDIT: Well go figure, I found one and completed Dark Harvest tonight. ~shrugs~

The only way a Machined part won’t drop from the end chest of the Mouth of Mordremoth fight is if you don’t have a Machined part eligible to drop when the boss is slain (buying a new Plated weapon from the vendor that’s there is too late, as loot has already been generated), or if there’s another collection item for you to obtain from the end chest instead, such as a backpack part for one of the Order collections.

I unlocked all the collections at once and worked on other parts while gathering machetes. I got 15/16 parts from about 70 pods. I opened another 100 pods without getting the last one. Finally got it from the Mouth chest.

Unless they’ve patched it out, I will say the bit about getting it from the vendor first not working is inaccurate. I made 8 of the 9 elites before the patch that added a crystalline ore vendor to the start of the zone. I worked on the first 6 one at a time, and had a practice of making sure I had the currency needed, running DS to get to the end vendor, then buying the Plated weapon before trotting over to the chest. I routinely got the Machined part from the chest immediately after buying the Plated weapon to open the collection.

I don’t know if that would have worked for the 9th weapon made after the big patch, as I didn’t need to redo Machined Shield to make Glint’s Bastion; I already had credit for it when I finally made my Revenant.

It’s not unusual to have abysmal luck gathering those parts from pods, at least in my experience. Of the 6 I did, I opened atleast 40 pods every time trying for the part, luckily I did Glints shield and Yggdrasil, so I only had to gather 4 parts for those 6 weapons. Dark Harvest (my 1st collection) I believe was the one that cost me atleast 100 machetes and Glints (my last collection) was the cheapest as I happen to catch a squad from 1 map into what would turn out to be a successful map and got it from the final chest. Just out of curiousity, you say you’re going for Bo, are you using a thief to open the pods? I seemed to have better luck using the weapons intended class for gathering, it also seemed to be a better probability of drop when that was the only collection open and the only item I needed in the collection, meaning everything else was good to go (asc weapon collection wise and machine collection wise) and I’d get the asc weapon with the weapon part drop.

Forgot to follow up on this.
I got it from the chest on the second attempt.
The only difference of the first attempt,where the part didn’t drop,was that it was the first run of the day and the daily chest was included in the drop list ,so maybe that had something to do with it.
Other than that,all the prerequisites were met for it to drop from the first run.
And I guess I was lucky with getting the parts for the previous weapons I crafted,so easily.

All of my machined parts came from the chest at the end.

If you got multiple machined weapons achievements going on or other collection items needed in Dragon Stand like the Orders backpiece, it’s RNG at best.

From my experience, the big reward chest you loot from the defeated Modernmorth does guarantee you the machine part however it seen to give you the last machine/ backpiece you unlock (achievement) first.

Example- I unlocked the machine torch achievement but I didn’t do Dragon Stand afterward and then I got the machine longbow achievement unlock. I then did DS and I got the machine longbow part and the same apply when I unlock Whisper backpiece.

Granted you can still get the parts from the pods aswell but seen to be RNG at best (I actually got the missing touch today eventhought I didn’t get it in the last three DS runs). I could of sworn that you get it easily in one hack in the past but I think the recent patch seen to make it rare.

Got mine from the chest at the end on the second run. After the first run, I opened about 40 pods and got nothing.
