Please, for the love of god, make them stack. I go through so many sicles and they only come in a stack of 25. I fill a characters inventory with them to distribute as needed. Please, make them stack. So dumb.

Yes it is good idea.
I have some more. Any of them will do.

-Stacking thing mentioned at first post.
-Make infinite one with huge karma cost.
-Allow us to merge infinite tools from gems with unbound one somehow with lesser cost
-Sell infinite unbound tools with gems.

Side idea.

Make tools stackable and accountwide. Like wardrobe or bank metarial stack.

Tools would have to be redesigned from the ground up to stack — they are individual items with individually tracked numbers of charges. ANet’s commented a couple of times about the level of effort to change that — this is among the reasons why they don’t have a good QoL way to help people combine ascended salvage kits.

I agree with this if the OP meant any and all tools. If s/he means the ones you buy from vendors that give unbound magic as a byproduct of gathering (as I interpret the thread’s title), none of the gem store ones do that.

I would think the easiest change (and why it wasn’t implemented in the first place i have no idea) would be to increase the base charges and adjust to the karma cost to compensate. no idea why it only has 25 charges rather than the standard amount.

This is a good idea. Maybe restructure it so that you can either buy separate tools or +25 charges, in case you still want a separate tool specifically for an alt or something. Have the tool max out at 250 charges.

The +25 charge item could even be more expensive due to the convenience of carrying a single tool with significantly more charges.

If the OP just wanted al ong lasting sickle that wasn’t gemstore, there’s the Advanced Harvesting Sickle for 125 uses.

However, I’m 99.99% sure that the OP wanted a longer lasting harvesting sickle that gives unbound magic.

I’m still hopeful that in Episode 5 or 6, ArenaNet will add in Advanced Unbound gathering tools – 250/125 (for axe/pick and sickle respectively) uses that cost 5 times as much karma (or double karma + 2 laurels) per. Best of both worlds – gives us longer lasting Unbound tools, but doesn’t add more infinite tools that are clearly superior than the others (looking at you, Watchwork Mining Pick!).

Leave it to them to add it in 6, about the same time the need for UB is dying down. I figured I would be farming UM a lot so bought an infinite set for 3 shared slots. Then realized I liked the UM tools better.
