Guild Wars 2

Hey, I just got to the new areas. I’ve noticed the hero points are only rewarding one point. From my googling, people have said they should provide ten. What gives? Am I hitting buttons wrong?

In all seriousness, I would really like to have access to my skills on my Herald. Any advice for me? I’m gaining hero points very, very slowly now that I’ve hit 80. I’m at 72% world completion and I’m not very certain how to finish my elite specialization.

The new areas all give 10 points each. Are you in Verdant Brinks or Silverwastes? Silverwastes give 1 point since they are not part of HoT.

Welp, I spoke too soon. I found one that gives 10 points. It looks like the initial maguuma zones are kinda crappy and I just needed to move in deeper.

Side note: I wish I had glider unlocked already.

glider is fast and easy, do the story as you go in you will get what you need to unlock it. If not do the events right at the entrance and you are good to go.

Yeah, I apparently am a full level away from using my glider, after doing all the follow up story. I’m just walking around this giant zone with shiny things saying I can’t use them yet.

I can’t say I’m enjoying myself. Hm.

I love a lot of stuff about HoT, but everything being gated by xp bars even at level cap, is the biggest downer I’ve ever encountered in an mmo.

I think if you do the next personal story line, where you choose to defend the crash site or rescue the sylvari that gives you a big bunch of xp which gives you the first level of gliding. It’s pretty easy and fast.

You get 10 points for every HP in Verdant Brink. Maybe you are confusing it with the Mastery Point communes. Those only give one MP and are account wide. The HP ones are 10 HP and character specific.
