Make (only) *Refunded* Hero Pts Acc Bound
Hero Points and Skill Points were always soul bound.
You don’t get to spend all the time on one character unlocking all of the other Elite specializations for other characters.
That was never how this was going to work nor has worked. period.

They’re basically the only thing that isn’t account bound at this point. I’ve been wanting this feature for a while. (along with build saving)

Where do you see anything about hero points not being soulbound? They aren’t even an item. The complete section about them from the recent post reads:
“We’re going to update the elite specialization unlock to find a better middle ground by reducing the cost of unlocking every possible ability for an elite specialization from 400 hero points to 250 hero points total. This means you will be able to access them much earlier in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns PvE or World vs. World and fully unlock them much earlier as well. This also means you’ll be able to experience more of the expansion story as your elite specialization earlier on while still maintaining some of our core goal. This should also help players with lots of alts try out more of the elite specializations. If you’ve already put more than 250 points into your elite specialization, surplus hero points will be refunded to your character for future use.”
This will put the extra hero points back onto the character that got them for when the next elite specs come out; they won’t come back as a token or some such thing.
Throwing my hat in the “No” ring on this one. Yea it sort of is annoying have worked hard to get 400 HPs and then the number needed has now been reduced. But guess what, that means next time they add in Elite specs every character that has excess points will have a head start on the newest things… and that’s not nothing. Also, hopefully they will go back to 400 points needed for the next round and just do a better job of communicating that ahead of time so expectations are appropriately set.
