I’ve been forging the mists weapons for my mesmer because they look so mesmery. I now have one of every season the mesmer can use that had the skin, barring the aquatic weapons and Wall of the Mists.

Imagine my surprise when I get the shield and ecto components, only to discover that unlike the rest of the mists weapons, the Wall instead of requiring 250 ecto requires 30 giant eyes.

In 3 years of playing I’ve only ever got TWO giant eyes, and a guild mate playing as long had 1 that he shared without my requesting it.

Another guild mate, who has 63 characters, 61 of which are level 80 and he has 116 map completions, and he has a total of 9 (no he didn’t offer his and I didn’t ask)

Checking the trade post, I discovered each eye runs for over eight and a half Gold, and was going to cost me somewhere in the ballpark of 264 gold to get all that I need. I’m not one of those people who Farms for gold, I can’t stand it, but usually it hasn’t been an issue, until now.

That being the case, I thought I noticed that giant eye was one of the possible Map awards at cursed shores, but I didn’t pay a lot of attention to it at the time. Did anyone else notice anything like that? Because if so it means I will be able to get some myself, and as well as lowering the price of them over time as well.

As a side note, I would really like to know why Giants dont drop giant eyes.

Giant Eyes are mentioned, particularly, as one of the mats available in Bonus Map Rewards.

Yes. If everything works as supposed no mats should be that expensive again since people will be able to farm them if they are in the rotation.

They will still be hard to farm personally (as they aren’t a common drop in this system either, from what i can remember), but it should be enough to push their price on tp down significantly.

Yeah the rare components like those and charged lodestones appear to show up on the map rewards at the 10, 30, 50, and 70 reward levels (datamined info subject to change, but sounds about right)

Sad as it is to say, that is still a lot better than the two I have received over three years lol
