Marjory's racism if you are not a Sylvari PC

Does this creep out any other Sylvari players? (I main Sylvari, and most of my other characters are Sylvari).
Marjory apparently alters what she says depending on if the player character is Sylvari or not. This completely changed how I view her. I don’t like / trust her now. Sort of.
Every time she calls me ‘boss’, all I can think is “she secretly hates me. She’s lying to my face.” It’s terrible.
Story wise this is fantastic, but personally I am really sad.

Can’t really blame her since right now Sylvari are just revealed to be Dragon Minions in HoT timeframe. People can’t tell which Sylvari to trust and who will turn any moment.
Being with a Sylvari in HoT time frame is like being next to Fire. It can keep you warm from the cold or burn you.
You can’t keep pulling the Sylvari-card every time some NPC offends you.

Given the circumstances, especially after with what happened to her sister, I can’t blame her for being more than a little suspicious.

I’m just sitting idly in the groove, waiting for permission to unleash my Flamethrower.
I love it. It is a form of character development. She associates the Sylvari with her sisters death, but during the HoT story she wil regain her trust in the Sylvari and especially in you the commander who wants to help them.
I do wonder about the anti sylvaro route though
Realistically, I think I would be cautious as well if I just found out that an entire race has a chance of turning into murderers at a drop of a hat. They may seem nice now, but without any information on how to stop it, anyone of them can instantly turn into monsters because an evil dragon sitting hundreds of miles away basically flipped a mental switch.

I have to concur, gw2 with every passing day becomes more and more unsafe zone.

Bear in mind, if you’re playing a Sylvari character, part of the difference is because she has been regularly interacting with a Sylvari for the past two years, working closely with one to save Tyria. That’s bound to have an impact on her perception of Sylvari.
If you’re a non-Sylvari character, then the biggest Sylvari influences in her life so far have been the Toxic Alliance, Scarlet, and Aerin.
I suspect that she doesn’t secretly hate you if you’re a Sylvari, but that playing a Sylvari means her story is different, that she has a very positive Sylvari influence in her life in addition to the negative ones that she doesn’t have if you are playing a non-Sylvari.

^This, it shows how different things are for each player/class. But these are things most people miss or don’t see.
have you seen verdant brink? it’s a fairly large flaming reminder that trusting sylvari isn’t exactly the best option if you want to not be on fire and falling out of the sky.
but I’d say the above posts probably nailed the whole difference thing.
