So My Q:
What do we do whit MP when we max-out all mastery traks?

here is my biggest fear:
the Masterys to be as WWW Rank points but for PvE
so when u hit1.7k www rank points there is nothing to spend them on- NOTHING!

if u think that Skill points are useless atm- think about it if they ware not used in legendary or rere-skins crafting. or mats promotion or even some recepies …. and still we have tons of them!

PLS Anet think about good sinks for them and don’t make something new and shiny that will become usless in 3-4monts down the line (again).

Seeing that, apaprently, the Mastery points are somewhat a separate entity from the mastery progression. They seem to work more like trait points that you use to unlock mastery tracks than something you steadily earn. They can easily limit those points to the number of tracks they’ll be adding. (maybe a couple extra so people don’t get limited to a set of sources). The real horror would be if we didn’t have enough points for all mastery tracks. Or worse not enough tracks to keep ups going till new ones are added Gasp.

I agree with your concern. Hopefully they do it right so I don’t have to make a gamelong decisions of not being able to get a specific track. In WvW it is ok as I could still play all of the game. In PvE some items sound as they will be unobtainable without some tracks.

They will just add more mastery tracks in the future to spend points in. Very similar to STO’s specializations. Anet have already stated the mastery tracks are here to stay, translate this to we will be adding more in the future.

Couple of important points they’ve made-

1. There will be a finite number of mastery points.

2. They can always – pretty easily I assume – add new mastery paths.

Given the first point, I doubt we will ever have a surplus of mastery points that just sit there. They can just match the number of points available to the number of things they offer.

And, when it looks like people are maxing them out, all they have to do is add new paths.

At the moment we don’t even know if there will be enough mastery points accessible (remember, each point is supposed to be unique, and gained per account) to max all masteries.

Personally i think that they should make a slight surplus of mastery points (so there’s a choice how to get them), but Anet may very well disagree with me on this point.

Once you’ve unlocked a Mastery track tier with Mastery points, you can begin training that Mastery. Mastery tracks are trained by gaining experience while the Mastery track is slotted on the Mastery training bar. Higher tiers in Mastery tracks require progressively more Mastery points and more experience to fully train.

ok So This Question is even more sad that I think

What will we get from exp when we train all masterys?

As I see it now:
1 we need MP to unlock Traks
2 we need MP and EXP to train masterys

so if MP are limited and exp is not
there is a point where we will tain all masteris get all MP and exp does NOTHING(again)?

Knowing that this is all just speculation at this point in time…….

The mastery stuff sounds similar to the Trials of Atlantis expansion that was introduced for Dark Age of Camelot back in the day when DaoC was popular(I know, I know…..dating myself…lol).

If it is done correctly, it will be very cool and worthwhile to do. Hopefully they don’t follow DaoC’s example.

players who’ve reached level 80 will no longer gain levels but will instead train Masteries.

we don’t get MP by leveling up

This means characters that have reached level 80 will no longer gain skill points through leveling

we don’t get SP by leveling up

the only time Exp is mentioned is to Train the mastery

Mastery points are awarded for completing various pieces of game content. Things like completing a chapter in your personal story, completing certain achievements, reaching hard-to-find locations, overcoming challenging encounters, excelling at adventures found within the Heart of Maguuma, or earning 100% completion for a map will award Mastery points. Each Mastery point can be earned once per account

we have fixed amount of MP!

and we won’t get anything from exp when we max-out masterys QQ

My interpretation was that you get MP from achievements (or something similar to achievements). MP will be rewarded retroactively based on achievements we have already earned. The tracks are intended not to be all maxed out simultaneously, in part because new tracks will be made available. MP will be used to unlock tracks and experience used to gain bonuses from tracks that are unlocked. Tracks will have tiers — with higher tiers requiring more MP to unlock and more experience to gain bonuses on the tracks. (What isn’t clear to me is whether a tier consists of a single bonus or a sequence of bonuses.)

It sounds like a reasonable system; however, it is hard to find a balance between people who are worried that they will max out too soon and people who are worried that they will be too restricted in their choices.

This is fully wrong.

You get Master Points from doing things like completing a Jumping Puzzle for the first time, or finishing a Story section. Basically things you get Achievements for.

You spend those Mastery Points to buy Mastery Tracks, like PvP Tracks. You then slot those Tracks into your character somehow.

From here when you gain XP it fills in the Track. When the Track is full you have that Mastery and you need to spend points on a new Track to slot.

So there is finite points you can get with potentially infinite Master Tracks.
