After nearly 3 years of playing, there’s literally nothing to do. Same boring kitten every single day.

This expansion can’t come fast enough. In fact, forget about the expansion, the information for the expansion can’t come fast enough.

I got all excited and hyped for the expansion for about a week. Then I realized they wont even give a release date or give a general time-frame… Its going to be a LONG time before it comes out… Well hype is dead for me now =P. All that’s left is maybe log in for a quick farmville collect on tomes/laurels until that changes. Hopefully soon but my gut is telling me the expansion will get delayed multiple times.

I don’t think it will be that long. The time between the original stress tests/betas and launch wasn’t that long. I expect release by june or july

I’m very close to just putting off GW2 until Specialization or more Revenant details emerge. I can wait for everything else but I’m just super curious on how Profession gameplay will change.

Other than logging on for dailies my spark to play has dwindled so much. If this week doesn’t introduce anything big then next week will be my last to be hopeful for big news, if not well I’ll come back when it’s ready. :P

I had the opposite, SORT OF. I mainly PvP but recently has a real urge to let loose of my “mmo” mindset where everything is about grind and numbers and just play for the story and fun on a brand new character. Only problem was… I have 80s (from pvp) on most of the characters I cared about! I really want to play a Revenant from 1-80 and take my time. So the hype lingers.

I will say though, then seemingly purposefully giving info on stuff people care less about and holding the meat back is driving me nuts. I just want a single specialization announced in detail so I know what it will even do!!!!!

I am completely hype-fatigued and have been for about two weeks.

When the said, “hey we’re gonna talk about the WvW borderlands maps some more!” I snapped. I like WvW and I should care but until they get out and talk about a process that’s going to affect play and gearing of every single character I have I really don’t give a pile of skrit poo about anything else they have to say. Not even the arrival of the Revenant has a fraction of the importance of dealing with the future of my stable of characters I’m already invested in.

The legendary stuff was cute- the culmination of plans they’ve been sitting on for 2+ years and actually new info. The map rewards sounds promising although the info on it is so thin people are inhaling the vapors and hallucinating “It’ll solve it so much” despite having some warning about new acquisition paths from John Smith that line up with the new system quite neatly…

Specializations. Doesn’t have to be 100% final product, but they need to talk examples and themes NOW.

I’m following forums/reddit (as with other things), logging in to flip and get the daily reward but that’s about it.

I was hyped during the announcing, but after the announcing when I realized there isn’t a date set (meaning, nothing is remotely close to completion), it just died instantly.

Forums are pretty fun/funny here though.

I am barely playing the current game. Skipping guild events. Just logging in for dailies. There really is nothing really inspiring me to try hard in the current game. Hopefully with the legendary mastery in HoT I will care more and feel compelled to play more. As of right now, I just don’t have the motivation to farm gold as I find it boring.

I hope it comes out in the summer :P

Yes, my hype is burning out. They information they gave given so far is sorta deprived and only a little of everything. I rather wait to get a whole explanation instead of a sample, such as the revenant. I wanted to know more about the traits, but I realize it isn’t done yet.

I had the opposite, i came back to the game after 5 months away being busy with stuff IRL and other games. have tons of stuff to do now, gotta level my last 5 characters to level 80! do all the dungeon paths! get my second legendary made!Gawd so much stuff to do!!!

that’s why i just check in on the news once a day. if there’s an update, i look it up, hype for a day or two, then go back to other things until another update. i’m already done prepping for the arrival of HoT so i’m good to go

I was quite excited when they announced the expansion and I started to play the game more, but the excitement slowly fades out and I’m now logging only for a daily… new information just don’t come fast enough… also I would like to know the specializations so I can decide if I change my main so I can level it up before expansion…

I at least cut that part out. Got every class to 80, other than revenant of course. But I would like to know specs so I can figure out if I want a different character as a main.

Same. I’m only here for daily login rewards, occassionally a PvP match or 2 before the matchmaking makes me ragequit.

I want to feel the hype, but it’s looking worse and worse. They had a really promising start with blogposts, really meaningful stuff every week, and then, like a month ago this stopped. Since then nearly every blogpost is just a summary of things we already know.

I agree my hype is somewhat lack luster. Although it’s more as a product of the very slow trickle of expansion details. I was massively hyped for the first 2 weeks, than as time went on and I heard less and less well my hype flattened. Probably just the hedonistic treadmill in effect.

Do you guys not have anything else to entertain yourselves with? If you’re bored of GW2, stop playing GW2. It’s really kittening simple. Maybe you just have more free time than you know what to do with? I wish I was so lucky.

Doing something you don’t enjoy is a waste of time. Find something else to keep you occupied until you want to come back to GW2. You lose nothing for taking a break. Log in for your daily rewards if it’s important to you. Don’t force yourself to find entertainment in something you don’t want to do.

I was hyped until they started doing the blog posts… now it is getting less exciting with every post…

New legendary weapons+
+2-3 at release, more to follow in the next 3 years
New WvW maps-
-Actually we are replacing the map, not adding it, so you gain nothing in the end

***only 1 per class and you actually will lose skills to gain access to a single new weapon, which many not even be a mainhand weapon.

If they add any more qualifiers I may not even end up buying the expansion for a few months after it launches.

My will to play the game has slowly dropped the last month or so, I’m just hungry for more info and more importantly when I can play the Expansion its been a long time coming.

Same here, I used to play so much but now if it takes longer than 10 mins to do dailies I don’t even bother now, the game has nothing to do, farming locations that kept ppl in game have been nerfed to dirt,

Sadly at this rate even with all the hype im not sure ill even bother with the expansion, I know a few friends who are thinking the same way also.

Yeah, actually logging into the game is kind of a chore now. I didn’t used to pay all that much attention to the forums either, but now on like every day hoping for some news that’s going to make me excited to play the game again…

And based on how long it was between when they announced GW2 originally and when it came out I feel that we’re probably in for a long wait.

I do think that Anet could relieve a little bit of the disappointment in the updates if they were to say…give us a choice in which features they covered next. Not an open choice mind you…but similar to what they did with Kiel and Gnashblade affected which fractal was released between the options: Thermonova Reactor and Fall of Abbadon. They could give us options like where does Kasmeer get her hair cut, how do charr clip their claws, and what are the new legendaries (my vote/participation would clearly go towards the burning question of charr hygiene). I think having some control over the weekly updates would revamp some excitement.

We want to play GW2, we want to enjoy our time with it. We are lamenting that we are not. We aren’t saying that it’s our only source of entertainment and we don’t know what to do without it. We are just not happy with the state that GW2 is in at the moment. Capiche?

ArenaNet has always been better at having ideas than at executing them. Release has always been disappointing, since the release of the original Guild Wars (in which there was a massive outcry from PvP players, when it was learned that, unlike in all of the many betas, people had to play PvE in order to unlock skills for PvP). They have never been able to properly implement the ideas they have. Some times they even lie to make it seen their ideas are bigger and bolder than they actually are (remember all the marketing around the GW2 release? The Manifesto? All that talk about a “revolution”?).

The thing is, with HoT, not even the ideas are that impressive. Most of what they have announced so far feels rather “meh”. Considering how it’s likely ArenaNet will overpromise and underdeliver, with the poor promises they have given us so far it’s very hard to feel hyped for the expansion.

I’m still enjoying it, I’m just not feeling all that hyped anymore for the expansion because I know relatively little. Even a release date would be a step in the right direction (even though I know there are good reasons why it doesn’t exist yet… but you know feelings).

I was never “hyped”. I just play the game. When they come out with the expac, I’ll purchase it and play it. But even if they didn’t announce an expac, I’d still continue to play the game for a few more years simply as it is. As a casual player I don’t consume content like others seem to.
