Guild Wars 2

I think the end of August release date theory (3rd anniversary) is out the window at this point. No reveals next week due to beta weekend the following weekend. Which leaves a minimum still of 5 weeks of elite specialization reveals. (this is of course assuming the “financials report” of a much larger 3rd quarter for Anet). This, of course, is not including the “challenging content” reveal or anything else they want to talk about.

Still a long haul to go.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they revealed and discussed the challenging content at Gamescon in Germany, kind of like how they discussed Guild Halls at PAX (or was it E3?).

Lets get this straight NOBODY says we are getting no reveal next week stop thinking just because they haven’t said anything it means we are not getting a reveal unless you have tangible proof stop giving out misinformation.

I think we’re going to see a whole truck load and a half full of info at GamesCom, including a projected release date.

probably not no, but just because there is no elite spec reveal doesnt mean no information. We didnt get an elite spec this week, but we did get information. There’s still Challenging content to be talked about.

Unfortunately, while there are many other factors that can lead one to deduce a release time frame, the financial predictions don’t count. They are from a third party site that made the exact same prediction in 2013 and 2014. Eventually they’ll be right due to the broken clock principle, but they are hardly a smoking gun.

1. Except Anet doesn’t have financials, they are all part of Ncsoft’s.
2. Ncsoft financials doesn’t reveal any information about the expected sales increase. You can download that information from their site.
3. The only thing they said is they hope to release guild wars 2 HOT in the second half of the year, not that it will be released in the year. but I will give you that.

October/November/December is looking even more promising at this rate (wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being early January/mid February of next year). I wouldn’t even think of HoT coming out in August/September, considering how much they still have to reveal and tweak.

I wouldn’t say a whole truckload of information. Maybe 2 (or even all 5) of the specialisation reveals (that way they can get to works on allowing us to play them in the betas, then have time to tweak them, in prep for the release). Including the engi spec, forge, and warrior spec, berserk/er that we know of from the datamined stuff.

I doubt we’ll see any of the new legendaries :-( I think if they have time they might reveal the ‘challenging group content’. But only time will tell.

My guess is Q1 or Q2 2016. There’s still too much information unreleased for it to make me think any time this year is goign to happen.

Maybe they are not revealing everything about the expansion as long as we know the basics of the features we really don’t need to know every little detail.

I think before the end of the year, like December.

Winter is coming.

Dare they miss the Christmas season? I think they’ll release, ready or not (probably not), before Black Friday.

I’m still hopeful for Christmas, but I’m not betting on it either. Anyone who thinks the expansion is coming in September has a lot of wishful thinking. At this rate, definitely 2016. But when depends on the testing and polishing rate. I still want a finished product. Not a rushed one.

On a side note, if there was any MMOs on the horizon worth a kitten , Guild Wars 2 would be in trouble.
